The reclining feature on the rear seats was something people enjoyed when they rode back there. That said, I'll agree, the back seats were not the best.

Couldn't recline mine because of my subwoofer box right up next to the seat. But before I put it in, it was a nice feature!

My wife has a 2006 tC with 77k miles on it and those are still selling for over $10,000 on Autotrader! Some in "perfect" shape with similar miles are selling for $13,000! Not a bad depreciation at all considering new, they were going for $17,000. I was looking into this because I thought it might be fun to build a 2005 tC club racing car if I could find a manual car for around $5,000. Yeah, not going to happen! They just held their value too well. Scott

The tC is quick enough to get out of its own way, that's about it. And this stereotype you speak of.. I don't know it.

Besides, just about every type of car out there has their own little club of "morons". Stupidity is not brand-specific. Last year I autocrossed my wife's tC in H-Stock and did pretty well with it. Its a nice little car with potential. Scott

I think tCs look pretty snazzy. If I wanted a nice FWD, reliable, economy car that's what I'd buy.

Toyota has the contract for these cars... Of they want to cut production then we lose all of them, BRZ included.

The FR-S isn't going anywhere. Toyota invested alot of R&D (read: $$$$) into this little light weight rear driver. Yes ... it is quite possible that Toyota branded the FRS a scion to "help" the brand. I still wish it was branded a GT-86 .... or BRZ. Toyota in developing the twins is trying to change its image of building only moving appliances. They succeeded in building excitement at the entry level. The next step is the Supra and I can hardly wait.
As for longevity. Who knows? I believe the boxer motor will outlive the body. The shell is so THIN to save weight. For the record .... I have 7000 miles with no issues. I still chuckle when the rear end brakes loose a little around corners into a perfect drift. GREAT CAR. |

Being a one off car , yes its going to get more expensive to maintain and replace parts for this car. I don't see this car stepping anywhere near the bounds the Miata did. Miata was before its time and came out the right time to corner the market.
My last little scion got 180k then it broke to the point it cost more to fix than its worth. And I was tired of it
