Keyless entry on passenger door

I got my car back today from a body shop to repair some dents on the fenders and passenger door from a scrape against a guard rail. When I got the car home and was looking around, I went to open the passenger door, with my keys in my pocket, and got no response from the handle to unlock the door. I've tried both of my keys and touching the little thumb pad gets no response, the passenger door will not lock or unlock from the outside. Driver side door works perfectly fine.

I know the handle was disassembled at the body shop for the repaint, but is there something I need to do to resync the keyless entry on that door to my fob or did the body shop make a mistake and not reconnect something necessary? The car is going back in tomorrow for a few other mistakes they did, but I just want to know beforehand is this is another thing to add to the list or if it's something I can fix myself.

If the shop broke it, it's their job to fix it...for free of course.

Ex: If they de-synced the door it's their job to re-sync it.

Probably just didn't plug in the sensor... But yeah, as ^ said, their job to fix it.

Yeah, like I said, it's going back in anyway, they botched the paint and broke some trim pieces in the same door, so I'll just add it to the list.

Something very similar happened to me today--got the car back from body shop (they worked on the rear bumper cover though) and now I can't use the keyless entry to get into the trunk! The remote and the release inside work, and I checked to see if they messed with the wires coming from the trunk release button, but it looked fine. Do they need to sync the keyless entry with the trunk if they disconnected some wires?

Whatever came of this, and how was it repaired? I'm having the same exact problem with my passenger door sensor after my car's passenger door was repaired.

If the driver side is already unlocked, the passenger will not unlock with keyless entry. Pretty stupid but like if your car is already unlocked and you're just getting something out of the passenger side or something it won't unlock. If you do have both sides locked and it still isn't functioning then have whoever did your door take another look and fix it free.

That can be changed by the owner, instructions are in the manual. Forgot how to do it exactly.

Doesnt seem like thats the issue these guys are having though.

posted this in another thread with a similar problem where the "touch to unlock wasn't working on one of the doors after removing the door card to fix the rattling window switch and mirror control assembly that vibrates when you have your tunes cranking.

"Touch to unlock" on the drivers side door was not working but "touch to lock" was working on drivers and passenger side door, and "touch to unlock" was working on the passenger side door.

Just the "touch to unlock" not working on drivers side door.

Both key remotes working perfectly to lock and unlock the car. New batteries in both.

To fix this issue:

1. Wind down the windows (did this just in case nothing worked so I could unlock manually).
2. Open the bonnet (hood).
3. Lock the car with the remote.
4. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and leave it for 15 minutes.
5. Depending on the time of day, have a cup of tea or an icy cold beer.
6. Reconnect the battery and leave it for another 15 minutes.
7. Repeat step 5.
8. Unlock the car with the remote.
9. Lock the car with the remote.
10. Try "touch to unlock" on the drivers side door again.

Mine worked again after doing all of this.

Hope this helps someone.
