I'll say the 86 rear diffuser > FR-S rear diffuser too.

I don't know. The video and pics at the show certainly look better than the rendering, but the front end is bugging me. I like the wider opening but it's too busy, and too much black plastic. Those probably help with aerodynamics but it's a 200, ok, 205 hp four cylinder. How about real side vents that maybe help cool off the overly hot engine bay? I don't know, just looks a little cheap with the stache and fake vents. Prefer it look more like a shark instead of a catfish, so for that reason, I'm out.

3. 86 leather Steering Wheel (86 emblem) > FR-S Steering Wheel Nope. Center is nice rest of the wheel looks horrid. Seems to be majority here

4. 86 Kneepads > FR-S No Kneepads 2014 + already has

5. 86 Alacantara Seats > FR-S Fabric seats Who said new is Alacantara? Just different coloured cloth. Do not like multi tone seats.

6. 86 Exhaust tips > FR-S dinky tips 2015 + Already has

7. 86 Fin antenna > FR-S antenna 2015 + Already has

8. Toyota Emblem > Scion Emblem Hate that cowboy but most prefer so I lose

9. Personally I didn't have a problem with the FR-S taillights but many people prefer the new taillights Me neither but again I lose

10. 86 name > FR-S name Makes Zero difference but I lose again

I think most people will agree with these points I doubt it

11. Front bumper looked not so great in 86 pics but I think it looks great in video, at the moment it's controversial so i'll give the point to the FR-S

That's 10 (86) - 1 (FR-S)

I'll give you the opportunity to present counterpoints to my argument though.

Counter point.
I get FRS - 8 and 86 - 3
Now much of this is subjective to taste anyway but you gave 3 points to the 86 for things the FRS already has and one point for something the 86 doesn't have (in the initial trim at any rate).

quick1987 it's time for your rebuttal. Remember you can follow the lead of american politics and just poke fun at Tcoat instead.

If they didn't change anything, I'd still be head of heals in love with her. I suppose a little plastic surgery here and there might make some new buyers happy, but I'll continue to dance with who brung me. The minor changes I'd make from the 2015 are so insignificant, its like wishing the hottest date you ever had, wore a different belt.

OOOOH a mudslinging contest? On here that usually means they resort to saying how much I post. Apparently that somehow makes me a bad person.
I think quick will understand that I was simply providing the counter point that he anticipated.

FRS. I don't know what they were thinking with the face lift.

Toyota is losing their hardcore enthusiasts to fit into the rest of the big, clunky westernized market. I picked my FRS because of it's sport compact look and oldschool Toyota lines. I felt it was the first real car Toyota put out since the Supra, but that new shit is awful. If they put that out in 2013 I wouldn't think the same, no matter the drivability.

It seems that every time Toyota gets an awesome design finished for a car/truck they go and fk it up, make it big and bubbly to look attractive to yuppies and non-enthusiasts. Look what happened to the tacoma/tundra from '04 to '05 remodel - it's a shame.

Wake up Toyota. Stay edgey and keep that western medicine outta your blood.

I literally like every single thing better about the FR-S, well except for the scion emblems and exhaust tips but both can be changed easily. The best thing about the FR-S was that it was a back to basics sports car. 2nd gen just looks too busy lol.

Seems like the 2017 Toyota 86 bumper is what they should have released in 2012 and the FR-S bumper should've been released as the new edgier 2017 redesign.

The front bumper and the rear bumper of the 86 in the renders make the ride height look higher that the FR-S.

I like the steering wheel on the new car. That's about it.
