[. In retrospect even the old pinto wagon I hated had it's good points if you can get past a few explosive points.
A buddy of mine had the Pinto's alter ego the Vega. It was built out of compressed rust.
One day he went over some railroad tracks and the car broke in half.

I had the prestigious luxury model (LOL) of the AMC Gremlin. The AMC Spirit. Like any kid back in the 70-80's .... I jacked the rear end up with shackles, traction bars and thought I was the coolest kid around. Didn't get me many dates though. :<(

That was the wife's second car! Right before the Pacer and the Concord she owned (what can I say they were dirt cheap).

I took my drivers test in a Vega...
I swear I took my first in one of the worst cars ever built. Olds 98 converted diesel. That car couldn't get out of its own way if it had to. I'll never forget the woman instructing me to take the car to 35 mph and stop before I hit a line of cones. I explained the car wouldn't but she didn't want to hear it. I left her in a black cloud and may have hit 25. I did stop though.

So I went back to the new car dealer and worked a deal for my BRZ. I enjoy driving this car more than any other car I have owned.

Next car, 2018 - 2020 Porsche Cayman S. The car that will take me into retirement.
Look in the back, there's 2 more seats back there. (And my grandsons love sitting back there!)

My next one will definitely be a Cayman!

Yep mine as well! Mind you the 14 year old is getting so it may not be so comfy anymore.

One more inexpensive something after this FRS for me and then Jag Type F for retirement!

Well now, @Tcoat , have you thought that through ..... ??

I don't see all that much difference in the looks between the FR-S and the Jag Type F.

Unless you just want to return to your British sports car roots .... ??

Oh yes, it's more powerful, but, just how much of that 575 HP will you use .. ??

After retirement, will you be in that big of hurry, to get down to the grandkids school for the school play; or to get to the grocery store; or to get to the bingo parlor; or to rush out and get a haircut; or ...... well, you get the idea.

Also, note the lack of back seat and very small trunk. Will you be able to fit in the walker, the oxygen generator, extra underwear, walking shoes, box of depends plus a large quantity of assorted meds ...... ??

However, a bright spot is, that since you will be retired, you will have lots of free time to spend down at the dealership, while it is being constantly repaired ......

I just want to say I own it! As simple as that. I have always lusted after them.

Now, in reality they will probably be some hybrid monstrosity that I have zero interest in by then so that whole plan is subject to change anyway.

Yep, most likely, they will be electric/hydrogen powered, all wheel drive, 360 degree collision avoidance and totally self driving.

TCoat: Jag, take me to the grocery store.

TCoat (en route): Where are we going .. ??

Jag: To the grocery store

Tcoat: Why .. ??

Jag: To get groceries

TCoat: What groceries ..??

Jag: The ones on your list.

TCoat: Where is the list..??

Jag: Your wife put it in your smart phone, which is in your upper right shirt pocket.

TCoat: What's this piece of paper on my pocket where I used to keep my car keys.

Jag: It's a note that reminds you that the grocery list is in on your phone, which is in your shirt pocket.

TCoat: Yep, I remember, back-in-the-day ...........

Good taste! A friend of mine has a close to lava Jag F type. I'll get a pic with them together at one point. I do agree their lines are similar.

Those are seats? Only for someone with no legs. Seriously though, I have never had anyone sit in the back. No grandchildren here.
