Garage
my ongoing project is an 89 volvo 765(Wagon) the frs is staying mostly stock until the factory warranty is up. the volvo is significantly faster on 14 psi, and believe it or not handles pretty well. its an auto and no LSD yet so not quite as much fun to drive, but much more comfortable power/heated everything and it can hold a 4x8 sheet of plywood I even got my ruckus to fit in it. theres something about pushing boost through a 27 year old motor with 350k miles on it and surprising people
I just recently bought an 89 volvo 780 bertone to work on too but it needs a lot of work and doesnt drive yet

Definitely a different way of going about things but they still see the track.

Previous project car was a 2010 Honda CR-Z. Loved the hell of the car, sadly lost her during Hurricane Sandy when she ended up completely submerged by water.

The CR-Z was honestly an amazing car to drive, quick on acceleration, fantastic handling as it was an extremely short wheelbase and only a two seater. Mods wise, I'd already got the exhaust switched out, deleted the secondary cat and switched out to a CAI on the engine as can be seen below.

The result from this was that I could get almost 45MPG from that car during a reasonable drive, about 32 if I gave it some and had a "spirited" drive thanks to the regenerative hybrid engine that they threw in that thing.

Exterior wise, I had blacked the car out thanks to NY's awesome rules on tints for two seaters (you can limo tint the trunk and rear windows as long as the vehicle has no seats in the back) and I'd lowered it on Eibach Pro's and had switched out the front/rear sways for stronger bars. I was just getting ready to switch out the wheels when Sandy hit. You can get a better idea of the look from the pic below.

Now I'm rocking the BRZ and honestly, as much as I loved everything about the CR-Z, this is just better in every way possible (aside from MPG of course, I still kind of miss that). Plus I've learned a lot in 5 years that has meant that I've been more willing to do more to the BRZ that I ever would have considered with the CR-Z. So here's a couple of my BRZ in it's current configuration.

Went from AP1 to 500T, and now 86. The 500T was fun to drive, but I should have went from AP1 to 86

Sometimes I get nostalgic and want to get one again, and that would be amazing, if it weren't $40K.

2005 Stone White SRT-4. The car is bulletproof, the definition of reliability. Takes to mods well, especially suspension and power. Drivetrain never needed much. Still have it.

Previous car was a 1987 turbo 2 rx7. I love the gas mileage this car gets 86 is a obviously better car except for the power difference.

Used to have a Black SRT4 ACR full bolts was my first baby and will always be my true love. Something about wheel spin through the first 3 gears just gets to me. Always like spanking people in a neon. The BRZ makes me appreciate the handle of cars more and love it in its own way but still wanted a bit more speed. I recently picked up a E36 M3 to feed my need for handling and speed. It needs some tlc cosmetically but mechanically is really strong and cant beat if for the 3500$ I paid for it

Recently picked up a 2004.5 Jetta GLI. 1.8T, 6 speed. In a straight line, the Jetta would kill my FR-S. around the bends, it'd certainly be more even. It has definitely sold me on forced induction for my FR-S though!

My first car was a 1991 Prelude which was replaced by a 1997 Prelude. I loved that car. I always thought the prelude should have been a RWD car, if it had been, I would have kept it. That was the last "project" car I owned before the FR-S. Sadly I sold it and bought a Trailblazer SS AWD. The TBSS was fun but got horrible gas mileage and had tons of little things constantly go wrong with it. Eventually I grew tired of it and sold it and bought the FR-S. I enjoy the FR-S more than the Prelude, but damn that was a fun car.

Car before my FRS was an EVO 8, and now I drive a 16 WRX.

What I liked about each.

The EVO 8 was a very fun car. It was extremely mod friendly, powerful (mine put down 384 wheel hp 363tq with few bolt ons), gave a raw driving experience, AWD was nice, and it was roomy. Downside was that most girls said it looked like a Jetta and it some ways I can see why. Interior was shit, and it spent more time in the garage then I did driving it.

The FRS was also a very fun car. It looks amazing, handles well, light weight and RWD is a blast, large aftermarket support, perfect seating position and cockpit layout. Downside is it's not very powerful, doesn't provide much room, RWD was frustrating in the winter (did care for swapping tires each season).

The WRX is a good balance of both fun and practicality. Its quick in stock form and with a E85 on a stock car or turbo back and pump can put down around 350whp/tq. It's very roomy, has a nice interior for a sports car, AWD is a plus in regard to practicality. Downside much like most WRXs their looks are something you either love or hate. This was the first WRX I actually liked the look of because it looks more like n EVO x than a WRX. Unlike the EVO the WRX also feels a little too refined. At times it can definitely feel more like a sedan and less like a sports car.
