Twins VS Your Last Project Car
 

As the title states your Twin vs Your Last Project Car. This means the last car you bought aftermarket parts for.

I'd like to hear the different comparison and contrasts of different vehicles with mods vs your FRS now. What benefits did your last car have over the FRS and vice versa.

Mine was a 1992 Prelude, you can read my review in my signature.

My last "project" was an SC300. With a bit of suspension work it handled very well...for a car that weighs about 700lbs more than The Twins. I do miss the extra power, but I'll remedy that shortcoming eventually.

I've also owned a 95' Prelude Special Edition in the past. Such a great car all around.

I feel like this is a bad can of worms for some.

My last "project" car was a 2006 MazdaSpeed6.

Car was so much fun, luxury, AWD (with a good rear bias), turbo, it was a very nice looking and performing car.

Had a blast driving this in winter, it would just rip asphalt and leave everyone behind.

It was a little faster than a stock 86 0-60, and A LOT faster from 60 to wherever...

Handling was good but the car was a heavy boat so no real comparison here...

Inside was a lot more sophisticated, but I can't really say I don't like the insides of the 86. Might be my

personality disorder but they both serve different purposes, and they both do good in this regard.

I miss it sometimes, but will surely miss the 86 more I'm sure...

Awesome, what did the special edition come with? Leather interior? I remember my Prelude's digital gauges... still wish I had them.

I was actually looking at one of these vs a 2006 wrx for another vehicle, think it would be good in the snow?

I'm in Montreal, so yeah, we get lots of snow during winter.

Never ever I had issues with this car in the snow. Then again, I didn't have any neither with the 86 for the past 3 winters...

But yeah, AWD did the trick, it was a beast launching the car in ANY conditions.

I don't quite remember the details. I believe so, but I swapped them out for the RSX Type-S leather seats early on. ;)

Last project car was a 2008 Yaris and loved it. Every bit of it.

First mod was a TRD catback and intake. Then came wheels, tires and megan coils. With all the N/A mods the car topped out on the dyno at a whopping 112 whp. Next was a custom built turbo kit tuned on AEM FIC. Dyno was now 188whp. After a year I started to lose compression in the engine due to burnt valves from a bad tune. So that meant a built engine which at the end I got it up to 280 whp and 260wtq from a disco potato (GT2860RS). Running that turbo with an open downpipe the car sounded like a semi truck. All you could hear is the turbo spooling over everything else. I smelled like gas all the time :bellyroll: Car weighed ~2500 with me in it.

Lots of power was still left on the table but when I saw the BRZ I had to have it. It is my first RWD car and I always wanted to see what the hype was about.

Last project/dd was a 93 240sx coupe. Loved the car, still have it. I got the FRS because side swiped by some dbag and was in the market for a new car anyway.

The 240 had a red top SR20 with a gt2871r. Other than that nothing crazy with the motor. Did a OEM rebuild because I blew it a few years ago. Most I put down was 250whp at 10psi. Had a lot of suspension work done to it coilovers, adjustable arms, etc. It handled great sadly never got a chance to track it. Super fun car though. Very similar to the FRS actually.

Haven't repaired the car since the accident. It's just been sitting in my garage. I'll start it and take it around the block every now and then. Haven't really had much time to work on it. Would like to get it going this year.

my previous car that i sold for the FRS was an e92 328i. it was an all around nice and fun car. it wasnt "fast" but it was decent enough to still have fun and the straight 6 is an awesome sounding engine. chassis is pretty stiff. sport package added awesome seats and a perfect steering wheel (imo). i actually pretty much like everything about the car... except that it was automatic. i didnt hate it, but i really missed driving a car with manual and just the basics. aside from that, it was a great car and i had some awesome times with it.

Awesome, I was thinking about getting an e92 as well but I was wondering how reliable they were? Lol

mine was pretty reliable. i just stayed on top of the preventive maintenance. the only thing i have no idea in preventing is the electrical problems all modern german cars tend to have at some point.
