This is why I don't think the twins will ever happen again, at least not in North America.

Now we wait for the new Supra if it even happens.
Well except we will see a 2nd generation of the twins, that has been confirmed by both Subaru and Toyota... and its pretty well assumed that the BMW and Toyota venture will be the next Supra.

I'd rather have a second generation that performs better than one that looks better. Of course both would be nice.

That's a monogram..... I believe both release series and the 10 series had the dual climate as well. Those are special editions and you paid for them. Basically a BRZ's appointments in an FRS.

And he's saying if they do, you'll pay more for it.

Still a monospec car trying to be affordable...so, no.

Maybe when / if they introduce trim levels later on? The BRZ is still the "premium" version and the Toyota is the "entry level." Want the dual climate now find a BRZ with it or a limited edition FRS with it.

Was there a press release saying it is monospec? That was Scion's mantra not Toyota's who has tons of different trim levels for their vehicles.

The Toyota 86 in the rest of the world can be ordered from stripper model to one that has the premium features of the monograms.

Yes there was, at least for the first year.

Yes the different trim levels in other parts of the world is common knowledge.

Lots of money went into developing new headlights with LED DRL, taillights, front bumper, back bumper, internals, wheels, tires, interior finishes, suspension, steering wheel controls

I would have traded off steering wheel buttons for dual hvac with a start engine button

It would have been affordable cause they didn't need to develop new parts just use pre existing ones

I'm willing to bet you will not like the new pricing which includes all that. So add 1800 or so to that and maybe you could have had the dual climate HVAC in the new car too.

Who knows, Toyota hasn't released the new car pricing, but I'm betting people will hate it lol.

This way, when the FT-1 finally comes to market, it won't look completely foreign. It will share stylistic cues with the existing sports car line. I suspect that the redesign of the 86 in a couple of years will give it an even sharper nose to fill in the gap between this year's refresh and the FT-1, so that when you see the 86 and release version of the FT-1 side by side, it'll be immediately clear that they are in the same family.
