I'm not old enough to give a crap about Meiji, but yeah, I know the others. I find it funny when I ask my Japanese freinds what year it is they normally say 2016, but I press them them for the Japanese one and they have to think about it before giving me Heisei ni-ju hachi.

I was on one of my early dates with my wife. She wanted to try some of my food. Did she reach over unannounced and just jab it with her fork? Nope. She asked if she could have some and had me put it on her plate. She later explained she hates when other women just take food off other people plates. Early sign she was awesome.

If wanna go even further you use Zulu time also know as Greenwich mean time, that's used so if you are in different time zones you don't have to worry about a mix up of times.
