How do you think pressing the brake is related to the noise?

I recently started noticing the same sound but much less often and much softer , but only in this situation-->drive the car until it is fully warmed up/ shut the car off/ then restart it within 3 min/ let the idle drop after the restart and as the idle settles down the sound will be heard.

Any ideas??

noise always goes away when i fully press the brake pedal to the floor. Not half way but fully.

how it might be related? i dont know...im no car expert but i can assume it is related to pressure created by pressing on brakes?( i have no clue what im saying lol)

if i turn on the car first thing in morning, no tap tap noise. happens when its warmed up. if you shut the car down after warming it up and restart it, noise will be there

Why don't you try this. Engage the clutch when you hear the noise. See if the noise goes away.

hmm if i put it from neutral to drive, car rpms raise and noise is no more.

the tap noise goes away when rpms rise

if hold brakes and put neutral to drive with brakes active. noise will be there

(holding brakes normally)

holding brakes 80% down will get rid of noise on its own(hold brakes down enough to physically hear whoooosh(air))

Mine has been doing it since day oce. It it totally random and comes and goes as it pleases. I find coasting down hill is a good way to get it to happen. I doubt you drive your car nearly as hard as me and I am 50k km's in and no issue yet.

Sounds like we have the same thing but mine is ever so soft , expect once at a bank drive through where car was warm, I turned it off, and then turned it back on to move forward to the bank window.

I'll have to try pressing the brake hard next time and see if it goes away.
