@eddyy
I'm still confused by your original post. You want a daily driven "race car", but you don't want adjustability and budget seems low for that (as many others already mentioned). You're more looking for race-car looking appearance than performance. I'd go with simple springs (RCE, Eibach). I have RCE Yellows on stock struts and I really like the height and performance. Buy rear SPC rear control arm to fix negative camber. Get a fancy looking 18" wheels like XXR, but get decent quality tires. Front lip and side skirts will help, and maybe with rear spoiler on a carbon fiber trunk you want. Cost (approx.) = 2800 Spring 300 SPC rear lower control arm 220 XXR 18" 650 Tires 600? Front/side skirt 230? Rear spoiler 200? CF Trunk 600? Then add bolt-on parts. If that's too much for your budget, I don't know what else to say for your "race car" build. |

I think I can clarify for some people. Seems like OP wants a DD that looks like a race car, as it seems he has no intentions to do any sort of competitive driving (track days or autox) with it.
As some have mentioned, $1,000 will generally not get you what would be considered a good coilover; and certainly not anything considered "race car"-y. However, several mentioned are decent options for a daily driven car if you really want to lower it; Tein Flex-Z, RCE Tarmac0, and STs probably being your best options. It'd also often be advised to avoid stuff like Meagan Racing and Fortune Auto, but honestly if you're only going to DD the car it won't matter much. The first three options mentioned are more likely to give you a better quality ride though. As for the rest of it, just get what you want. This is going to be similar to any other build for the street, and there are tons of threads with info on all those parts. Your alignment won't matter all that much, but adding some negative camber would probably be a good idea.

Still failing to see any "Racecar" in this thread...
Racecar = Function first, form and comfort a distant second A true daily-driven "Racecar" made out of an FRS/BRZ would focus on functional add ons and eliminating un-functional factory bits, but in order to keep it a daily some of the more serious bits (Suspension/Bushings/Brake pads) would need to beg geared towards rougher roads... So basically it would be a Rallycar |

Technically anything you can or have entered in a race is a "racecar". This includes a factory fresh car right off the assembly line with everything bone stock. meh...

If the OP wanted helpful suggestions, he would have titled it "What coilovers should i buy?" Instead of trolling us with a misleading thread title.
