I just used the "contact us" on the Koni-NA site and explained that I had an FR-S and needed the washer. Prompt response and the only question they asked was "what is your shipping address?"

I thought your car had MCS?

Nope. too poor/cheap for that. I'm only finally getting ready to pull the trigger on the springs.

I think I may have mentioned a strong interest in sending mine out to be made into double-yellows, but not yet. Heck, someone seeing my car sorta kicked off the brouhaha about the full struts.

Has anyone autocrossed on the OEM pads for at least 3+ events and then switched to aftermarket? I'm curious what your experience was like doing so and how much of a difference it made in your runs.

Also what is everyone's opinion of the Ferodo DS2500s on the FR-S/BRZ? I run them on my Evo X but it's 1,000 pounds heavier so getting them heated up a little doesn't take long. Do they heat up sufficiently on an FR-S?

I've got Carbotech XP8, which are a bit overkill for autox. I had no issues activating the ABS with the stock pads. After one or two brake applications during the first run to a little heat into them, they bite significantly better. I'd imagine something like the Ferodo DS2500 or Carbotech AX6 would work much more effectively at the lower temps seen at autox.

Edit: As far as making a difference in my runs with the XP8, I feel like I can brake way later in a shorter distance, but these pads are more difficult to modulate versus stock pads - they are grabby and release pretty abruptly.

The AX6 is what I'm switching to as soon as I get them in the mail this week. People tell me they are easier to modulate than the XP8. They're commonly compared against the Ferodo DS2500.

I'm fairly certain they work well for auto-cross already I'm just curious how well and if people have issues getting them heated up. Right now I'm on OEM pads and there's a lot of things I want to get done before Crow's but I think brake pads are going to have to wait unless people feel it's a night and day difference.

So, the new 2017 Toyota 86 has been revealed (?).
Any ideas where it'll land in the 2017 season?

Writing my letter to put it in BS. +5 horsepower and torque, it would be too unfair to all the 13-16 BRZ owners. I mean, not only do they get shafted on suspension, but they're also down horsepower now too!

CS arms race. 2nd gear will be taller than the current gen which will lead to better 0-60 times for the magazines, and less shifting for autocrossers.

Well that makes the choice easy for me at the end of this year.

I guess everyone's pricing out stx builds right now.

But wait, are we safe there either?

But doesn't that also mean acceleration would be slower, which would negate the power advantage?
