@steve99 thanks for the response. It definitely gives me a better ideas as to what's going on, and great clarification as to how things work. I will reach out to the OpenFlash crew.

@steve99 Another question for you:
Would I be able to run a Zeitronix ECA-2 to simply monitor E% alongside the OFT E85 tune?

Yes if you say bought a flex kit and fitted it ie connected sensor into fuel lines and power but dont connect to ecu via rear 02 or evap as ecu will be confused with signal from the flex kit. You would be able to see the E% on the display buy their would be no interaction with ecu.

at some point later if oft release code and tune you should then be able to hook up full flex, or you could go ecutek if that does not eventuate with oft.

just check you can power the sensor analyser and display or blutooth module without using o2 or evap plugs.

be an expensive display though

the flex sensor put out a varing frequency signal this is then converted by the flex analysier module into the 0 to 5v used by the ecu, but you need new software in ecu to repurpose an unnecessary input for flex signal and then interpret and act on that signal

Thanks! It's support like this that led me to purchase OFT.

Hmm any reason why my Cal code and Tune Files don't ?

Also when I go to add a tune (AO1C) in bank 4 it's not compliant and If i try to upload an (A00C) "Module Can not be found"

I am trying to upload the updated files I downloaded from the site. "Toyota GT86 Off-The-Shelf (OTS) Tune Files (v2.074) UPDATED 2/18/16"

Am I missing something?

You can, though when Shiv ports through to OFT, E% should be monitored through the OFT.

You can also build yourself an arduino flex fuel sender and output to bluetooth, PLX gauge, or any display you can attach to arduino.

Thanks for the info. Say I already had an FF kit and only powering up the ECA-2 to read e% through the gauge, will OFT have a way to communicate with it all? Or am I pushed to read e% from OFT and/or a built FF sender? I am VERY new to this which is why I'd be interested in utilizing a current FF kit on the market.

1. The ECA sensor will output a frequency (50Hz = gasoline, 150Hz = Ethanol).

2. The ECA sender/arduino will read the frequency and output a voltage which is displayed in the <primitive LED if ECA-2> gauge. You can put this in anytime you want.

3. The FlexFuel code (EcuTek's or mine) gets the ECU to read the voltage and alters fuelling and timing based on the voltage read.

4. You can interrogate the voltage sent by the ECA sender and display it however you want - arduino, OFT, multimeter; or log the value of the ethanol content used in RAM.

Hmmm something weird going on their.

Suggest you flash back stock tune to car .

Then erase oft, using openflash tablet manager (connected to internet)

Then read in stock tune again

load in tunes that match your original calid

looks like oft has got confused

if that does not work contact the Openflash guys on phone

Open Flash Tablet - OFT TIPS Trick’s & FAQ

Mine just says not compliant when I try to upload tunes even though they match the CAL that I got from Shiv and website. Gonna start at beginning see if that works while waiting for Shiv to get back with me.

*update*
I erased all data and started from beginning and still getting file is not compliant. Not sure what's wrong still waiting for Shiv to get back with me. In mean time might see if I get it flashed at dealership if that don't fix it.

no point getting the dealer involved its an OFT problem.

did you flash back you original tune to cat from OFT then totally erase OFT with open flash manager ? then re read origina tune.

Check its calid with OFT then load tunes of that calid.
