I didn't read the whole thread but here's my take... you should be able to trade it at a dealer for a similar year/mileage for just a couple grand. Either bring cash or get a small loan. Getting paid under the table is gonna hurt since you have no proof of income. Should only cost a couple grand unless you trade up

Lol so a fake vent is ok on it cuz it's "classic" but it's ricer on a frs? Double standard much?

Why do you assume its fake. You think that big ass thing up on the hood is fake too. Not only do you not respect classics, you know very little about them

So now you're just going to make assumptions about what I do and do not know and then call me out on your assumptions? Please get a grip dude. You're not 12. I said something negative about a "classic", making a perfectly legitimate comparison to modern cars, and you have to get up in my face? Fucking childish. That Daytona whatchamacallit that everyone loves with the huge wing is rice as fuck too. At least my GT wing does something every once in a while. Get over yourself.

But ....... but........you said:

"Our parking lot was full of beaters except for a few rich kids, who also had boats attached to their cars lol."

That very cool car doesn't look like a "beater" ....... so, where is the boat ....

Actually, the vent was built into the front fender and was functional.......hood and fender vents were a part of several cars which built way before "rice cars" ......

Humfrz I don't think we had ricer parts lol. I know all my vents were functional, as I grind my fingers on the metal grades ever time I washed it. LOL dude that wasn't a rich guys car. Yes it looked good but it was far from rich. And that thing on top the hood could suck our cars in! I loved that car and wish I had it back. It saw many service road street races. LOL car came with an 8 track but I changed that out pretty quick

But this doesn't make it functional. I could cut a hole in my fender but that doesn't mean it will alleviate wheel well pressure. And I've heard stories of older cars like this with chopped springs and a passenger limit because an overload would cause rubbing. Just because it's more common now doesn't mean it didn't exist. Now I'm not saying your car looked bad or was distasteful, I'm just trying to draw a comparison to what people idolize and what people(not necessarily you humfrz) bitch about today.

Well now, I reckon "rich" was relative .......

Here is what I drove during my college years. It didn't even have a 8-track, but, it did have a radio ......

Note my mods - port-a-walls and chrome tail pipe extension ........

My dream car is a 47 merc with a man eater grill, chopped dropped tucked and throwing flames. I think it will be way past my retired monetary spending limits though. Even rusty ones are a bundle

Ah yes, @Ashikabi , but the vents on the T/A were functional ......

I scraped this off the Internet ...... so, it must be factual.

"The front fender air extractor, is the vent is located in a depressed area of the housing, in kind of a backward scoop. This design takes advantage of the "Venturi" effect, using air flowing across the air extractor to create a low pressure area, thereby drawing air out of the extractor. This results in something for nothing. High pressure air is given a pathway out of the engine compartment and at speed, a low drag port is molded into the side of the car which naturally aids in air removal."

The vents added at least 10 WHP and 30 MPH to the top speed (more if you had the stickers)............
