Securing subwoofers

Any tips on securing my subwoofer? I have read that velcro works well, but does the glue side actually work on carpet? Or do I need to get double sided hook velcro?

I dont really want to drill into anything if possible, because L-brackets would be the obvious choice there.

Do you drive the FRS likes its meant to be driven? If you do, then you will need to drill things to hold it in place. If you drive the FRS just for show and because its a "cool" car you will probably be fine with something like Velcro

*Fun fact* its called hook and loop tape, Velcro is just the brand

I dont track the car at all, but i drive it pretty hard.

but my real question is, does the glue side of the velcro tape stick to the carpet?

And I did in fact know it is hook and loop tape! Velcro is the best brand =)

1) Okay then I would highly recommend you drill some holes and do it right. You could get a custom wood trunk liner made up
so drilling into that is 100% removable.

2) No the glue will not stick to the carpet very well at all.

3) dam straight Velcro is the best.

Bolted down is the only acceptable way to mount a subwoofer box in a car. Think about what happens if you get in an accident, your fault or not. That box becomes a potentially lethal projectile. And yes it's happened before. Last case I remember was about 4 months ago, car pulled out in front of neon and when the neon hit the other car, the box broke through the rear seat and killed the driver.

My last build had the subwoofer and kick panels bolted through the floor pan with 1/4-20 bolts. Of course, my sub box weighed 55 pounds and my kick panels weighed 25 pounds each.
