Meh well I'll know later this week if it was just bad gas. I'll keep everyone posted.
Just because they advise to use premium does't mean you can't use regular gas the car should drive just fine with regular but maybe less powerful ....so please stop blaming this on the gas. That's just plan stupid!!

If the car has a issue than it has to addresed !

When I said that, it was me wondering if maybe it was bad gas, and others had me wondering if even a lower grade would have any kind of issue. We have no idea yet what the real issue is yet so chill... I don't have time to take it to the dealer until this weekend, so until then, I'm driving that 1/4 tank out.

1- it was maybe 15-20 people at the time, mostly on their first tank. So yeah it sounded very likely at the time.

2- it could have even been bad gas from before the PDI. Maybe water in their tanks? Old gas?

A gas issue sounded very possible from the beginning. I'm sure we know that those chances are probably slim to none as of now, with some reporting the issue on their 3rd and 4th tank, but we weren't getting info from them till recently.

Ok so official word from the Toyota rep is that the VVTR control valve and Cam valve are bad. Unfortunately for me and the rest of you experiencing this problem the parts won't be available until sometime next month so my car will be sitting at the dealership until then. They also advised me that any of you having this issue should not continue to drive your vehicles until taking them into the dealership.

At least we have an answer, to bad it wasn't a simple one.

Check up in the top right of this post. I'm pretty sure it says something around #165... Out of those 165, probably only 1/4 have reported having this issue. The rest have questions or giving us updates.

Last time I checked there are total of 162 members replied to this thread... & 37 posts were by yayforaddison

You're assuming as much as other member assuming this idle problem is bad gas.

In time, this problem will be solved. Maybe bad gas, maybe wrong ECU map, maybe gas cap, we don't know. Currently, we're just figuring out what can causes this idle problem.

Well that's a good news... well, it's not a "GOOD" news, but at least we figured out this problem.

Whiteout, thanks for the update.

Sitting at the dealership until next month?! So are they paying your car note and giving you a free rental?
