Yup! I found that if I keep the engine cooler (ie oil temps down in 190F range) I have no crickets. During the winter when I remove the thermostat (its a normally open type but still blocks a little flow so I remove it) from my oil cooler and get my oil temps up around 212F it chirps again. Just a observation I made.

Surely there's a fix for the rear package shelf/trunk rattle. Dealership may have to try several things.

DANG, @euthqt ......... I misunderstood you.

First you said you "bought the car a few months ago" and then you mentioned "it being a new car".

"So long story short, I bought a series 10 a few months ago. Now I'm noticing every little tiny issue and they're frustrating me a lot.

What do you guys think? Am I hypersensitive due to it being a new car? Does anyone else think like this?"

Later, you mentioned it had 18,000 miles on it.

"bought the car @18k miles"

So, if you bought a used car, I reckon it just came with those "imperfections" ......

OCD? This car bruises easily. Just enjoy it. It rattles, squeaks, throws random sounds at you and btw thd specs you can half remove with water spot remover and light scrubbing.

The yellow is the earplug. Stopped all my trunk rattles. Alternatively, you can bend that clip on the other side of the screw to give the same effect. I just stuffed an orange ear plug into the hot lava chassis and it was virtually invisible so no need for me to bend metal.

I wished they could have been around, back-in-the-day when we were buying used cars.

Open up a barn door and there she sat, all covered with pigeon poop, with two flat tires, a missing battery, 2 quarts low on oil, no gas in the tank and no water in the radiator.

Back to town, pick up a used battery, a couple of retreaded tires and a couple of tire tubes from the junkyard and a couple quarts of cheap oil.

Buy some gas and borrow some water from the seller, change the flat tires, install the battery, pour in the oil and fill up the radiator.

Fire that sucker up and watch the blue smoke fill the barn. Pay the seller in cash and he hands you the title to that fine machine .... done deal!

Pull-er out and down the lane you go. Don't worry about the brakes not working, that's what the "emergency" brake is for. The radiator will hold enough water till you get her home.

When you get her home, add another quart of oil, put a can of stop-leak in the radiator, fill up and bleed the brakes, replace the fan belt, replace a couple of light bulbs and you got yourself your very own car .......

Clean out the rats nests on the inside, wash that puppy and you are ready to go crus-in .......

Slight sun damage on headlights Avoid the sun or use a headlight restorer to remove the top oxidized layer of plastic on you headlights then use Aerospace 303 and put on a clearmask headlight protector
Something rolling around in door on passenger side (I think) Somthing broke off/fell inside -open the panel and look inside
A lot of random sounds coming from the trunk area might want to use silicon between weld joints and maybe a rear brace for additional rigidity?
Small bumper paint scrape from someone tapping me in the parking lot. Park further away from people but not the point the car is isolated and prime for theft or vandalism. This is hard to resolve because there's always a bigger idiot out there to ruin your day.
Lots of crickets (I can hear them even when driving sometimes)Normal but when you hit the accelerator they go away -and keep your hood closed & don't idle in drive throughs.

What do you guys think? Am I hypersensitive due to it being a new car? A little sensitive, go to other forums and see what they have to put up with -even worse when the car is substantially more expensive that this one.
Does anyone else think like this? It's you're investment, you want it to be glitch free but you just need a little perspective (perfect cars sit in museums with empty gas tanks).

My apologies for being a tad bit cryptic. Yes it was used when I bought it, and I've had it a few months. Most of the issues noted weren't present when the car was bought, though.
