Update is done, my version was kind of old (2.0 vs 5.X)

Since I'm from Canada, iHeartradio no longer work without a account. But now I've got slacker radio, way better.

The new "Destination search" is exacly like bing, without the bing logo.

Since I've installed the Toyota Entune module, the boot screen show "Scion" after that "Toyota" if when I've turn off the car, I was lisening to my USB stick (always on that) I don't really care, I actually find it funny :P So the update did not change anything for that, still the same thing.

This update is really for the Toyota Entune module, not for the radio itself.

I bought a Prius C navigation module on ebay and it works great PT296-47120. Updated ENTUNE also no issues https://securedp.toyota.com/download...oyotaHeadUnits. As far as I can tell all the series entune navs PT296-47120, PT296-47130, and PT296-47140 work they are just different years I guess. Waiting on the GPS antenna to finish the install. I actually bought two of the modules by mistake, I am going to put one back on ebay I guess.

NOTE: I did have to do the diagnostic set up on the head unit to get it to recognize the nav unit. You hold down the audio button and turn the headlights on and off 3 times, turn off the car then turn it back on and it works. I did go through all the options in the diagnostic not sure if you have to, to get it to work.

I was not sober and spent my tax return on my 2013 FR-S:
PT546-00160 Head Unit ( for a 2016 FR-S? ) from eBay Canada for ~$180USD and got the
PT296-12160 Navigation module from eBay.
PT591-00140 Brackets from a Toyota parts seller.

Installation was simple, thank God for PnP parts. Now I just need to get the Toyota FIT backup camera from eBay and I should be set.

Good to know, thanks for finding that out, I'm going to be doing that in the future and might as well get the 2016s head unit anyway found a couple for cheap on ebay.

To anyone wondering how to update your maps, you have to spend at least $100-$200 right now at the dealership, who simply does this process in the attached pdf. It's kind of ridiculous but it's not like other navs where you can just torrent a navigation map package or even like Mazda which gives free updates for the first 3 years. Toyota has to order in a specific usb dongle if they don't have it and request a specific license key through techstream. 30-60 minute job

I don't know what happened to the traffic app. It seemed to have broken when Toyota dumped Bing Search. I have the upgraded Entune software (5.0 or whatever), but I've never gotten traffic to turn back on.

It's funny rather than look for a module which is one ebay right now for $300 I found a Prius headunit 2012-2014 range and bought that for $180 and removed the PT296-47130 module from it, took some searching but navigation for under $300 working instead of $1000+ is quite an achievement. I'll install it on Saturday or friday probably and update on how it goes, I'm waiting on that wiring harness plug that goes in the back, the brackets and the antenna.

It worked great for me ! You can update the module too with the link I've posted earlier.

Cost me about 400-450$ CAN total with wiring and everything.

But yeah, It's a good tip for everyone to search for Prius and other Toyota's radio that still have the module attached to it.

posts when I googled this originally a year ago before I took any action, maybe they can update their posts with this info

Anyone wanting to do this mod should know the main module can be found in a lot of Toyota vehicles with the premium navigation or some sort of tech package WITHOUT THE JBL AUDIO PACKAGE from 2012-2014 in fact this is a list of all the used head units you can try to find that has this in there photos ask the ebay seller to take photos of all the sides of the head unit to confirm they have a harman unit with the part numbers PT296-47120, PT296-47130, PT296-47140:

The grand total is $241.56, much much much cheaper that just the module on eBay currently for around $400, and way way way less than buying it directly from Toyota for arounds $1000-$1200 depending where you're located.

Oh great info man ! For the antenna, the one I've found on eBay didn't need triming at all... It "click" right there !
