HID Lights

Can anyone recommend some good LED lights for the scion frs? I am looking at replacing mine with some i love the way they look...also the big difference in the xenon vs halogen? not real clear on that.

Im looking for license plate, interior lights, and front and rear lights.

The headlights should be HID around 4300k-6000k is acceptable before you lose usable light, the best choice would be either Morimoto or Diode Dynamics. They are the best quality and well known in the market.

Important to know you can order really good high quality leds for the entire interior and exterior other than the headlights from diode dynamics, they also sell a premium canbus HID kit which is really well built. DO NOT GET LED HEADLIGHT BULBS, ONLY HID HEADLIGHT BULBS OR BUST, the technology just isn't there yet to compare to HIDs, however all the sidemarker, turn signal and interior bulbs can be LED

HID and LED are not the same thing. do NOT buy LED lights for your headlights since they are not properly outfitted to handle LED's. although just swapping in an HID kit is not the proper way to do it for the stock halogens, it still works fairly well since the FRS has halogen projectors and not reflectors. buy a quality HID kit since you basically get what you pay for. I would recommend visiting Diode Dynamics or The Retrofit Source since both have great customer service. Diode Dynamics also has a package for a full LED (minus headlights) conversion so check that out on their website

Here's a thread we posted explaining some of the downsides of LED low-beam replacements, with excellent comparison photos in an FR-S headlight: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81340

Even with projectors on my last car I can attest to the low output of LED lights (I had some Cree's) they were just dim. literally half as bright as replacement stock bulbs I could have gotten from O'Riley's.
