Ohio peoples speak a different language altogether. Some hybrid involving slang and jargon.
Where I'm from it is translated as follows. There I was fixin to roll on down the freeway when some Genius pulled along up my quarter panel. He was lookin by car up and down and fixin to have a go at it. Not adverse to sport in my twice msrp BRZ, I let em have it. Blew his doors plum off. They layin back there on the shoulder now with critters crawlin up on it. That's what some sort of fool get himself when he tangles with a car that's lighter by my big cousin. He weigh himself in at half thousand, I reckon. I wager that ain't no small measure. |

I guess it would only be fair I defend my bold claim...
Im going to try and argue this with a non-bias POV as best as I can. Leaving preference aside the intrinsic value of the BRZ is greater and for only being a little more expensive than the FRS you acquire alot of benefits. For an example if we look at the fundamentals of the car more or less they are identical however over the months of owning a BRZ and working on my friends FRS's I have found vast differences in the car itself and the externalities of owning them. First, the headlights are simply higher quality, again separating preference. Second, better add-on/warranty options exclusively from Subaru dealers (may be controversial but must be included in my argument). Some of the minor internals, as I was installing the supercharger on my BRZ there were also side note steps for the FRS as simple as relocating the horn (just using this as an example) was far harder/tedious than it needed to be for the FRS than the BRZ. *I could go on about the internals but for simplicity sake of my argument I will just state the main points I hate to use the badge argument but I must state the elephant in the room, as a BRZ owner you are apart of more groups than the FRS. BRZ is a hybrid of the drift, track, this forum, ae86, and the boxer community. One could argue that the FRS is just as widely accepted since it shares the same engine and therefore should share the same community. This is simply not so, I am a part of many clubs and I can easily say that the subaru scene is almost elitist in their exclusive"ness", luckily not as bad as the BMW scene. No offense BMW owners but I met a fair share of bad apples in the community. I do not share in this ideology because it simply does not make sense and even some look down on me because I (relatively) share the same car with Scion owners. However the Ae86/ft86/Gt86 community is by far more accepting of BRZ's as their own unlike the Subaru community. I do not mean to bash on the Subaru community, but that is just how things are presented to me as I have owned this car. Lastly Id like to state, I love both cars and I hope no one misinterprets my argument. To be fair I originally preferred the front bumper of the FRS than the BRZ but like I said above preference has very little credibility with objective arguments. I like that there is a division in preference otherwise diversity and competition wouldnt exist. |

Also I've stated before if no FRS there wouldn't be a BRZ. And BRZ owners think they own a Subaru. It's not a Subaru not a real one anyway it's a Toyota 86 with a boxer engine, the only part of it that's Subaru. Face it, like us you drive gt86's and if you read any readits, the real Subaru guys don't claim the BRZ as part of them No offense really Last edited by RichardsFRS; 02-28-2016 at 09:18 PM. |

This isn't a good argument on why the BRZ is better. In fact, that's a deal breaker for me. I'd like to steer clear from any 'elitist' group of motor enthusiasts as they inherently are close-minded and biased. Your argument makes it seem like the FRS owners, as a community, are widely accepting so why would want the BRZ? So you can be incognito among the elitists? That's too aristocratic and political for my taste. Outside of looks alone, I honestly think the BRZ vs FRS is such a silly argument at any rate. |

LOL how do Subaru owners get off on brand recognition? All they've ever made are commuter cars with the occasional turbocharger attached to it. Outside of rally they have no motorsports quals, no heritage of sports cars, no halo cars... Any performance car they make is compromise car. Toyota sports cars > Subaru sports cars.

The BRZ isnt really a Subaru in the sense that the concept was all Toyota and Subaru wouldnt ever have done a rear wheel drive vehicle otherwise. ----------- The Subaru people for the most part are more discerning regarding brand. I am guessing they tend to have higherbudgets vs.the Scion people too. Many people chose Scion because it was more affordable and they were not conscious of the brand image. ^^Actually that is all pure trolll bait LOL. I laugh when Subaru people think their car is better. I see nothing wrong with the Scion brand. In fact I had an xB when I first got the FR-S. Scion reminded me of Toyota in the early 80's Their price vs reliability drew mw in when I wanted a compact hauler I could afford to buy cash. Because of the xB I heard about the FR-S and ordered a month later the first day they went on sale. Yes I liked the extras the Subaru offerex but I decided to take the Scion when arrived even having right of refusal pending test drive. If the twin was my only ehicle Id probably have bought the higher equipped Subaru.however, for my money the Scion delivered what I was after, great performance and styling.
