In for header and tune. An unequal length header(UEL) will give you the rumble. The really nice ones are like $1000+ but you can get a used one for $300-500 in the member classifieds here on the forum. Fewer power gains but still reduce torque dip and sound good. And any parts you find unnecessary later can just be resold here on the forum.

If you want:
Sounds/power: header and tune
Handling: lowering springs and sway bars, tires(pick 2 of these)
Looks: wheels and lowering springs

Good luck and welcome to the club

thanks a lot guys, I think im going to look at a header and a tune... What tunes are available that would still keep me within price range? I was looking at ecutek but they are very expensive for license + cable .... and thats just stage 1 not even stage 2. My father has a 2014 silverado that he got the DiabloSport Intune and he got it through a guy that goes by Diablu and they can send tune files back and fourth and diablu will retune in account for bolt ons for free whenever. Anything like this thats affordable for my $700 Budget? Definitely decided on header but now i'm looking for tunes. Thanks once again guys

Open flash tablet. Get cable etc off forum, just have to buy a license. It's cheaper than ecutek and a little easier. If you want flex fuel right away or map switching on the fly you don't have a choice on ecutek. But the OFT is best value. Don't get Unichip, I was very much not impressed and took a being when I sold it. I don't know cost on OFT(I do know it's cheaper) as I got ecutek for that tasty flex fuel power(cost about 1200$ for ecutek and flex fuel FYI)

OFT doesn't have the license or cable, that's Ecutek.

You can typically find a used (unmarried) OFT for $400, and that's all you need to be up and running. You can flash any of the available off-the-shelf tunes which includes E85 options if you're so inclined (note, NOT flex so read before trying) you just need access to a Windows computer to install their free software and you have a ton of options from there.

Pretty sure OFT + OFH is out of your budget. No idea what the Gruppe-S header goes for but a used OFT is around $400-450. To keep within your budget I would go with an OFT, aftermarket air filter, and save for a header. Tomei makes a quality piece which is reasonably priced (iirc Gruppe-S is a knockoff Tomei). I know the feel when you want to get a ton of mods but keep your budget in mind. Welcome to the club

I think I just saw an OFH for 300 and an OFT for $400 so if you got lucky you could hit 700$ but 8 or 900 is better for cheap headers and OFT

I daily drive it and i'm looking for a real nice deep sound that's aggressive when wot and then subtle but still louder than stock when cruising and not wot. I don't really plan on making this a weekend only car but id probably supercharge it in the future... years to come most likely. I Have $650 maybe $700 I could spend on mod(s).

I was looking at getting Gruppe - S UEL header and maybe a cat-less front pipe... but then I started thinking about getting a cat back system. Maybe uel header with a tune for some performance? Hell, Maybe a berk track pipe with header?
I'm looking for some advice on what I should do for my first mod, like I said earlier one thing id really like is a nice deep Subaru like sound that"s aggressive when you get on it. Whats my best bang for the buck?

Thanks
header from Gruppe-S is cheap and get an OFT. Should put you around $700 to $900 and you will make your most hp gains there.

It isn't 700 but this is what they're talking about. You can troll the FS forum and find deals here and there.

Buy Gruppe-S UEL + tactrix cable and flash OTS UEL e85 tune seems best solution for your budget.

It's basically a setting on the device, so it is included in the price of a used OFT. It can be transferred, unlike Ecutek, which was what I was really trying to say.

To use the oft you need to marry it to your car, this just involves reading in your original rom to device.

once that is done you can flash tunes to that car only.

although the logging, guage display, tuning alerts and pedal dance function will work on any 86/brz.

If you want to unmarry the oft from first car you need to flash the original tune stored in device back to the original car. Then erase oft (it cannot be erased unless you have flashed back original tune to original car), then its unmarried and can be married up to another car.

So its transferable, but can only be used to flash tunes to car its married to
