Ichiba Spacers - Ver.1 vs Ver.2 ???

Just wondering, i want to use these spacers on the stock rims. Probably going to get 10-20mm...still debating and will need to measure. But I will see. Won't go bigger than 20mm

Am i good with version 1?

Also, are these good spacers? I know people say H&R is good, but how do these compare?

They look similar and perform the same job. They push the stock wheels out, and add weight. 20.6 plus the spacer = 21lbs+. Not lightweight for a 17x7. Personally, I'd get different wheels. The stock 17x7s limit your tire selection to 215/45 or 225/45. Just my $0.02.

Some one else can comment on quality.

So i can just go with version 1 cause they are cheaper haha

About weight, i don't really see how a lighter setup would benefit me. I don't track or autocross. Would like 1-2pounds per wheel really make a difference for someone like me who just drives normally and occasionally spirited driving? I doubt it lol

And I'm happy with 215/45/17 tires. Again, like i mentioned, not some track star here trying to achieve better lap times or improving times on autocross. I think for the street 215's are fine especially with some better tires in the future.

Also, i like the style of these rims :P
The only other rims i really like are enkei rpf1 in sbc but they only come in 17x9 and are expensive. Like $2000+ setup with tires.

Sorry to be kinda negative in my first post.

If you like the wheels and tires. Then, Yes, spacers are a great way to improve the look.

A little weight for normal driving is not going to be really noticed.

A word on the v2 spacers, it might not fit the wheels you want.

As a little background, I bought some wheels and discovered that they would rub in the inside. I tried spacers (similar to V1), 5 mm was not enough, 10 mm was not enough. If I wanted thicker spacers similar to V1, I would need to buy longer wheel studs because the spacer was too thick and the nut would not tighten enough.

I bought 15 mm V2 spacers thinking it might be a better solution than buying V1 spacers, and then having to buy the longer studs. Turns out the 15 mm spacers are too thin, so when you install them on your hub, you still have the OEM studs poking through. the Enkei Raijin 18x9.5 would not set properly on the hub.

Some wheels might have a bit more space behind them so that they oems studs have a place to go.

Had I known this, I would have bought V1 spacers.

Before I set my eyes on the Enkei Raijins 18x9.5, I have (I haven't changed since the raijins are giving me a hard time) the spacers that perrin sells.

These are similar to the Ichiba V2, and are thick enough the OEM studs are fully inside the spacer. so any wheel will fit without issues.

If you want to stay with the stock wheels, check them out. they have pics of the OEM wheels with 25 mm spacers and the fitment looks great.

I'm not looking for such wide spacers though. I don't like when the tires poke, and im looking for the wheels to still sit inside the fenders.

I did measuring tonight, and I want 5mm or 10mm in front and 10 or 15mm rear. I plan to just buy a 10mm first, and see how it sits on front and rear and see where i like it more haha.

What spacers would you recommend for this?

Sorry for the late reply, I'm not on the forums much.

I know that 5 and 10 mm spacers fit on the stock studs. anything more than that requires new studs or spacers like v2. I think you might be well with a 10 mm spacer on stock studs. the reason is how many "turns" you can get on the lugnut to secure the wheel (apologies if turns is not the right term. english is not my 1st language). My friend tried 15 mm once with the stock studs and the lugnut wasn't turned enough times to have a secure placement of the wheel.

10mm spacer on stock stud is way to big. I read somewhere that the maximum is 3mm on stock stud .

most good kit will come with longer stud. My H&R 15mm spacer kit come with stud!

I like H&R, but on FT86motorsports they don't seem to have 10mm...only 5mm and then it jumps to 15mm

The new MTO safety rules that everyone is getting butthurt about now explicitly mentions spacers.

Hub adapters, say 5x100 to 5x114.3, may be legal but reads like it is up to the discretion of the safety tech.

Catless headers on this platform are illegal, yes. Many people put them on and pass emissions by bypassing ready sensors. You cannot do the same with spacers.

In the end, as long as you are aware that what you are doing is not street legal, it's up to you on how you decide to proceed. Spacers would just be on the list of a roadside blitz inspection, just like improper HID kit, improper muffler, improper wheel/tire size, wrong coloured fog lights, blacked out tail lights, etc.
