Yeah, I used to not think it had enough power. But that was simply because I hate taking cars to redline..this car when in the right lower gear and higher rev range has the power to pass cars and accelerate quickly. I also added 35whp, so that probably helps as well

I'm just going to re-iterate what @T-Coat said; and add that I have real world experience.

I own a 2013 BRZ and a 2015 WRX. I drove a 2011 Sti for wintercross this year.

Simple: FR-S/BRZ with snow tires > WRX without

The base wrx and the brz aren't in the Sti's league; but neither are the prices; so I'm not sure where the financing picture you have would fit.

Just being honest, the wrx models below sti have disappointed me greatly. If you want to see real buyers remorse; slide a WRX through a snowy intersection.

My BRZ is on Blizzaks and I was out last night in a parking lot practicing my stopping. Stopping distances on ice/snow with proper snow tires and pads is really good. I've been driving my BRZ through the entire winter.

We'll see how the WRX is next year when it gets steelies + blizzak. I'm hoping it's awesome; because it sure isn't now.

Just my 2 cents on an interesting topic (for me); since you mentioned the WRX.
