interior upgrade

Not sure if you're like me and despise the standard-issue-cheap-japanese-car silver plastic trim. Finally dealt with it once and for all with alcantara and cabron fibre wrap. 11 trim pieces redone (2 by JPM coach works - shift and handbrake boots, and the alcantara fabric also purchased there), with only the steering wheel left. The steering wheel will be done tomorrow. It looks so much better. Not sure the pictures do it justice, but the feel of everything is so much nicer. (centre armrest is an accessory from scion, shift knob from trd - people always ask these things)

I know we all bought the car for how it drives, but lets not fool ourselves, we all wish our interior was nicer.

I for one love the interior. However I do find the silver to be getting kind of old. Been thinking of doing this exact same thing lately!

Not to be nit-picky, but the alcantara on the dash pieces could use a little cleaning up around the edges.

But otherwise it looks great! I opted for matte black on the dash panels, steering wheel, and shift surround/buttons. I will soon be ordering the black pieces for the doors and centre console, and the vent trims, to finish it off.

My only worry with your application is that the alcantara on the door handles will wear very quickly over the years, as alcantara is not really known for its long-term resiliency.

Fabric I got from JPM coach works.

As for the other two points: I have since tidied up the one or two edges. I also found one or two to be in need of work, so a little glue reapply and all fixed.

Also, for the door handles, I find because it's on the outside of the door handle, I think it will hold up ok. It's not the side of the handle that you pull on.

Toyota/ Subaru plastic isn't my favourite. Don't like the look or feel of it. Call me weird. Less plastic is always best I think but maybe that's just my preference.

you've made your crappy interior even more uglier. Look at those edges, who are to say it was bad in the first place... i would crash my car looking at that horrible job. Please re-do it

Just remember the most important thing whenever you share your build. At the end of the day as long as it makes you happy that's all that matters. There will always be people with negative comments.

Had already fixed a few of the pieces since I took those photos. Took those photos right away. It was a first try at wrapping with Alcantara. Think I have it down now. Will see how it grows on me. So far I like it.

I found it amusing someone would bash the standard-issue-cheap-japanese-car silver plastic trim and then half ass wrap it, just didnt make sence. Then post the crappy results. Almost had a stroke

I don't have the silver dash trim (piece around radio that extends to the passenger side) as I have a 2015, but I personally like the silver dash pieces around the HVAC controls, gear shifter and steering wheel. It brightens the cabin. I can see how the dash trim may be overwhelming, but other than that, I like the silver... I may be the only one.
