off topic but can I use Ecutek to flash OFT tunes?

I've been using OFT for the last year and enjoy it but will have to switch to Ecutek when I get the Edelbrock supercharger.

Yes
but its kind of unethical if you dont own an oft

dont add racerom feature patch to oft roms as oft roms have their own custom lc/ffs patch and it possible they may conflict causing a bricked ecu.

some oft roms also have calid adjustments internally which may confuse ecutek software, again possible bricked ecu even if you dont add racerom features.

you will also need an ecutek licience about $300 to be able to flash each car (ecu) with ecutek. ie $300 per car even if you own the cable.

It won't allow you to add RaceROM to an OFT OTS ROM. Nor will it allow you to directly flash one as it detects the non-standard portions of the file.

Thats going wasnt going to try :-)
I wonder if it would detect the calid adjustments on roms without the lc\ffs patch as not all roms patched.

Do you guys know how I can activate launch control/FFS if my OTS tuning files don't have it? I'm using the european tuning files (cal id ending in D00G). I checked with romraider and there's not even a FFS/launch control option to turn on or off

LC/FFS requires the OFT guys to do a software patch to the rom, unfortunately its not been done for D00G calid.

try emailing/calling the oft guys

Hmm thanks for the reply! What email do I send to? (Sorry, OFT noob here). I can only find the 'sales' email on their website, but I don't think that's the one. Do I send to shiv/vishnu? And what are their emails? :P

First and foremost, thanks for all of your support. I may be one step closer to joining the OFT bunch because a deal on EcuTek fell through (so annoying but I'll get over it). My main reason for a tune/EcuTek is so that I can run flex fuel. I know that OFT allows the use of E85 and I would just need to look after it. I don't want to deal with it at the track, on my trips from AZ to CA and NV, etc.. I want to pump where I want, when I want, etc. Set it and forget it. With that said, I am willing to put up with it for a little bit. Here are my questions:

1) How far along are we with OFT being flex fuel ready? Are we looking at a few weeks/months or is it more like end of the year/2017?
2) Once OFT is flex fuel compatible, can I pair it with a Moto-East flex fuel kit and simply flash the OFT FF tune?

From what I understand, it is in the works. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on my above post so that I can buy an OFT already.

Oft is a device to flash the ecu log , guage display ect.

For flex fuel to need someone to wrice addition software code for the standard rom\tune to allow the ecu to interpret the input from a flex fuel sensor \kit you fit ro car.

Ztan has written the additional code and shiv is in process of testing this on his turbo shop car.

However it is not known if this code will be added to the standard NA tunes, this will be up to shiv to do , then shiv would also have to produce flex fuel tunes for the na roms.

This may be some time away best talk to openflash guys.
