I specifically drove and listened for cluncks and to see if I could notice droop issues or the fronts topping out because of the preload. No such thing. But wouldn't want to run much more preload, there is no top out bump stop, just metal to metal. Remaining droop travel in front is approx 40mm or bit more than 1,5", that usually is plenty for road driving.

If I were you I'd try yours without the preload and see what that does.

Ah yes - I was thinking about that the other day when I replied to your post saying "I have no issues with preload" Maybe I do? It's not much preload but it's easy enough for me to reduce to 0 preload and try it out.

Need to take back some of the above, I drove a very short speedhump today, and I could clearly hear how the front struts top out. Sounds similar to bottoming out, but on the extension fase. So 7mm preload is absolutely the most, perhaps I'll reduce it a turn to 5mm, will see.

Edit: An alternative set-up that keeps most of the height adjustability would be just to use a 7kg spring of the original lenght and without preload, it would still improve bump travel by having the damper sit closer to halfway the travel with the weight on the car.

Just drove a very deep pothole at speed, and the preload does clunk when the fronts top out. If I would redo it today I could just go for the original length spring at 7kg, and run it at a small preload of 4mm or so which would be possible because the mini bump stop reduces effective damper stroke somewhat.

That's where I'm currently at, but I'm wondering if the 4mm at the rear is causing the light clunk noise in the rear - possible the coils are contacting each other. If I can find time this weekend I'll reset the rear preload/height and see if that changes anything. Otherwise I have no complaints, feels great, and the extra camber afforded by the front plates really liven up the front end.

Do these have exposed adjusters sticking up through the carpet in the trunk like the Flex-Z's?

Yes. I threaded wheel lugs over so that luggage can't mess with damping adjustment...

They do. I fitted a cusco rear brave which offers some protection to them but I never had a problem before to be honest.

Hi

Does anyone know if these can be used with standard top mounts ? The reason being my local sprint regs do not allow modified mounts with spherical bearings.
Thanks

The adjusters stick up so you have to trim the side trim panels to let them stick through.

Installed Flex A this weekend, and I must say I love this coilovers, after running lowering springs for over a year now and the ride was just getting unbearable day to day.

I'm currently running 9mm of preload front and 6mm of preload in the rear with 9 clicks from stiffest setting and the car feels so comfortable.

I will post how well it handles at the track once I go on novermber, but as a baseline, my car was on Swift spec-r (4.4K front, 5.3K rear) with koni shocks and it was very tail happy with a bit of body roll... so far on the street the teins make the car feel way more planted, but will give a full review once I take it to the track, and yes, I know this are not meant to be corner carving coilovers, but its a compromase I had to make to DD the car without destroying me.

just installed a pair the other night. I only got to take them around the block for a bit but instantly felt better than the eibach sportlines i was on and potentially even better than stock. Had them set about 8 clicks softer than the hardest setting. Going to put them to the test at an autocross next weekend and will update with the results after.
