I'm curious if you have actually been able to change your rear camber by taking advantage of play in the linkage bolt holes. Please do tell if so.

Some cars alignments sheets I've seen posted had as much as 0.5* degree or more difference L/R in the rear. Doing this can help with that.
Mechanically, the upper and lower arms are connected to the same subframe so shifting it has no effect on camber.

Never mind on the BBS. Apparently BBS wants $300 more per wheel than they would for other sizes. They must only make the 17x7 on a per order basis or something...

Anyone running the Dixie Tour? This will be my first National event with the FRS and probably 2nd or 3rd event total with the car. Will be running 245's which I do not think will be a good tire for that lot but oh well. Look forward to meeting the FRS crowd!

Trying to figure out the magic tire as there are lots of size but usually all missing the size you want, like everybody knows. But I came across some Toyo R1R and they are 200 tread wear tires. Since the re71r is considered the tire to have how do the R1R's compare? Never heard of any comparison's and they seem like 140 tread wear cheater tires to me.
Thoughts?
(Tires are both 200 tread wear tho... )

Anyone know anything about these wheels? https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/41593 (Am I allowed to link to this?)

Description: Tom's Forged Alloy Wheels 17x7.0J Silver: 6.0kg

6kg (13.23lbs) is INSANELY light for a forged OEM sized wheel. I'm not sure I even believe this...

I did a lot of this same research a couple years ago and gave up... I really wanted the RS Watanabe magnesium wheels for our size, but they were just crazy money. If I remember right, they were maybe 10lbs or maybe less?

I've just stuck to the Koseis that everybody has and a set of Buddy Club P1 Racing wheels for now. I did notice that Motegi has a light-ish
CS option available on Tire Rack again. I don't think it's the forged Traklites that they sold years ago, but it's another option!

Keep us in the loop with any others that you find!

R1R's are inferior in every way, even in wear/tire life. Having burned multiple sets of both of these tires, R1R's are just old technology. Very soft compound, but suffer from bad tread squirm, and soft sidewall, and they'll heat cycle out much quicker. The RE71R is so much easier to drive on, and will be significantly faster for new-amateur drivers, giving you much more confidence in slaloms. These tires are not even close in my opinion, there's a reason even the people running the 195-50-15 in STS even swapped to Re71R's (or Rival-S) this year.

I've got a set of Wats coming! But in 17x8 +35.

I was originally going to go with the magnesium wheels, but after reading about their tendency to break because they're more brittle; I decided not to risk it on the awful IL roads, and ordered the aluminum alloys. Not heavy, but not really light either.

The Motegis at Tirerack are flow formed (cast) and something like 1.8 pounds per wheel heavier than the RPF1.

They aren't listed in the newest Hyper-Rev 86 book that I picked up when I was last in Japan but I did remember that you can order Work Meister S1R in custom size and it looks like 17x7 is available. How much they would weigh, I don't know.

I have a feeling I'm just going to end up with RPF1s in spite of all my efforts to find something better. It's just too much work to find a forged option for CS.

2016 Colorado Championship Tour

Who all is going to the Colorado Champ Tour this year? I'm debating road tripping out there for it. What's the venue like?

I can't this year. I enjoyed it last year but it's at a different site this year which I have not been to.

I will, since this is local-ish to me. We are supposed to have this at a brand new site, La Junta airport, with lots of concrete like LAP. We have a very healthy CS class locally, so expect lots of competition. Plus some fast guys from the New Mexico region will most likely show up.
