Understeer and oversteer are about throttle, speed, braking, steering angle, shocks, springs, rollbars, and stuff like dat. Apparently the RS can easily oversteer in the right setting. Lots of reviews out for the car. Not the car for me, but I certainly wouldn't throw it out of bed.

A FiRS would be awesome.

Agree with the above. The Focus RS seems to be quite an advanced system as one of the techs were explaining how the suspension, brake bias, differentials, and torque vectoring change when you put it in its different modes (normal, sport, track, and drift.)They havent release the car yet so we can't get dedicated price because you know the ford dealers will hike up the price of them when they first come out as they did the 2015 mustangs.

Will it be limited production (ie only a set number will be made)? Will be needing a '"family" car soon and this is high on my list.

Just like any car, initial demand will be very high, those who really wanted one will get theirs first and dealers will cash in on mark ups until demand settles down (just like the twins!). I'll give it a couple of years for the bugs to get worked out.

I have been told from numerous sources that this car is limited production. I have no idea how limited but I am not sure Ford will sell this car outside of a few years and most likely with limited numbers being allocated a year.

Maybe that will change based on demand, but if you really want one I am not sure waiting 2-3 years to buy a new one will even be an option. Historically RS cars have been very limited.

Sigh... I guess there's always the used car market

Its a nice car but, I don't think I could justify $55,000 after taxes (CAD) for one. http://bpfoc.ford.ca/2016-Ford-Focus...OCUS-RS-CA.%5D That's a ton of money for a 'Focus'. I'd love to take one for a spin though.

It's like every 5th post from a Canadian is just lamenting about the terrible exchange rate of your currency.

But to the point, it's basically Mustang GT money for most people for a tarted up hatch. It makes perfect sense that it's limited production. Like others said unlikely I'll buy new, but could be a great candidate for a 'family' car in about 10 years...

Fixed!

My friend has a question for you Canadians. See, when an American accidentally gets a Canadian quarter in change, we go, "Damn!" because it means we have money that's not only worth less, we can't actually spend it anywhere. So when a Canadian accidentally gets an American quarter, do they say, "Sweet!" because they're getting more value in their change? Or do they curse because it's hard to spend?

Alternatively, you could get a Focus ST with the Mountune kit since it doesn't void warranty and ups the power and torque.

Yeah buuuuuuuuuuuut, it's an alternative. The only reason the RS appeals to me so much is because of the AWD factor. Otherwise, I wouldn't consider it.

The type r is too late into the game. It offers nothing different. There is already the focus St. Not worth the money or hype about unless it went back to its root. I want a 9k redline type r hatch. I'll buy that. But as it sits right now, the focus rs offers better performance for the $.
