I didn't mean that the +2015 versions are more refined in terms of oversteer. The suspension is additionally less nervous and gives a much better grip and a much better handling. Yes it might be also less fun with less oversteer, but the point is if you want a faster car or just a car to play around.
Here is a video testing the BRZ tS and some comments regarding the old vs. the new suspension. The +2015 versions don't have exactly the tS suspension, but share most of the new technology. |

How many people here have had the infamous "fuel pump chirp"?
Kinda not digging the sound of that. Has this been resolved in newer models? |

Went paintballing, once I almost got to the location, there was a 1 mile single lane dirt road you had to take apparently, it was really bumpy and I had to go 2-8 MPH, there was a few bumps where I still went slow and at an angle and I heard a scrape.. Stock suspension and height. Definitely not taking my 86 again next time I go lol. F that road haha
-edit thought thread was just general discussions on how the car was doing today lol. HyperBlue 2016 4.5kish miles It's holding up really great, might swap transmission fluid for easier shifting in the morning on 2nd. (Yes I warm up the car) When I first got it I was really happy and I'd say 4.5/5 when I bought it, but it's weird you'd think you'd get tired of the "new car" mood and stuff but, the more I drive it the more I love it because I get better and better (first manual) and downshifting feels good lol. Definitely feeling a 4.9/5 now since I'm loving it more everyday. It'll probably a 5/5 when I track it my first time

2015 Ultramarine FR-S MT.
In 15 1/2 months of ownership, I have put 19,000 daily driver miles on it including a few solo trips. Mine has the TRD exhaust and intake, OEM armrest, mudflaps, NAV, rear spoiler, but no mechanical mods. SO far, I have driven 10K miles with the OEM tires/wheels (Turanza, not Michelin), 9K miles with 205/50-16 Blizzak WS80 snow tires. Serviced by the book except that the first oil change was at 3500 miles instead of 7500. No mechanical problems whatsoever. Minor electrical problem was a defective USB port from the radio. Repaired under warranty. Winter mileage is 26-30 mpg, summer is 29-34 mpg. I love driving this car. I find the seats and driving position very comfortable for me (6' - 240lbs). I am a low brass musician and librarian for an English brass band. I find the trunk space great for carrying my largish euphonium, instrument stands, road side emergency bag, and case of music. With the rear seat down, I have carried a full size tuba, two euphoniums plus luggage on a trip from Long Island to Boston. However, keep in mind that this is a sports car, not a GT car. It rides very firm (even with OEM suspension/tires) and is noisy. Finally, after 19,000 miles I find that the car is significantly faster than it was when new. The engine revs very freely and feels like it has more torque than it did when new. |

2014 BRZ Sport Tech
50,000km Mods: muffler delete, Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs, K&N drop in filter Issues: I had the 4th gear grind. But of course when I went to the dealer about it it wasn't present, and hasn't really come back. Sometimes there's a little bit of condensation in the tail lights, doesn't really bother me though. Only big thing is that after putting the lowering springs in I blew my right rear shock, and the left is leaking a little bit. Luckily the dealership turned a blind eye to mods, and replaced it. I'll probably go back in spring and do a big check up on the car and get them to replace the other shock. I've done two road trips in the car. One in the fall, and one in the winter. Winter one was 3000km+, fall was about 2000km. GREAT road trip car. There's nothing bad I can say about these cars really. Only negatives is there's some rattles and squeaks, but loud exhaust, windows down, radio up, you don't hear it

2015 FRS bought in Oct. 2014. Got 5775 miles as it's my DD & 95% city driving.
Drop In Apexi Power air filter, DC Sports Exhaust tips, Opti Coat Pro, Tints and Diode Dynamics LED bulbs for DRL, license plate & reverse lights. I read about the crickets way before I bought the car. The crickets come and go but I notice it when my gas tank hits below 1/4 tank. I listen to my tunes loudly so I can't really hear them. Had all my servicing done by dealer with no issues so far. Looking forward to getting a Perrin Catback Exhaust and tracking the car one day. Love the car n the ride....mid life crisis for me as I'm in my mid 50's....my ex gf didn't like the car so I dumped her....LmaO! For realz! |
