1/ It is not known why the front was designed like that. That is, there might be functional reasons for it (massive air flow to keep a tiny turbo engine cool?) as opposed to aesthetics (or lack there of).
2/ One can't see the front of the car when sitting in it.
3/ When it comes to cars, for me, fun>looks.

I kinda like it. Plus I'm sure there will be tons of aftermarket bumpers to pick from.

I guess I'm the only one that loves it - small, lightweight, and cool/wacky looking.

**fingers crossed** it comes here to the US

I think the looks are thrown off by the color on the concept. Its like booger green or something. Put it in the same red as the FT-1 or old FT86 concept and would be nice I think

HAHA Agreed. Some angles made the car look weird but gotta see it in person though. Kinda like the new IS or the RCF. They looked out of wack in pictures but in person they're gorgeous cars.

1/Tiny turbo engine shouldn't need that much intake area (about 4x what my 580hp FD has) to keep cool! But in any case there are ways to keep exactly the same intake area and and make it visually less massive. Not having a fat contrasting color surround for one. Not having significant blocked-off areas is another. Also, the upper part looks like it must be for directing air to an intercooler maybe (way too big to be for intake air)? That could be done with a separate intake.
2/ But one can see the front of the car when outside the car
3/ Of course, but looks also matter.

All I can think of after seeing the 2 new concepts (S-FR and LC-500) is how all that R&D, time, effort, and money could've gone towards developing spiritual successors to the MR2 and the Supra.

A car that handles like the MR2 wouldn't be built nowadays.
