I've meanwhile contacted our local KW office (KW is the only coil-over company which actually does have an office here) and asked them for an offer regarding the KW competition coil overs (they cost about the same as the clupsports but are just not supposed to be daily-driven since they provide less dirt protection).
(I have to buy from them, otherwise I won't get the paper work required to get this 'road-legalized'). They need to know following: * Application (track, rally, hillclimb..) * Tires (road/slick/intermediate and dimensions) * Weight (front axle and rear axle) * Lowering (Height from wheel center to fender) * Camber * Toe (I guess they'll figure out the specifics regarding spring rate and damping parameters based on that information.) I think regarding camber I would have -3 in the front and -2 in the rear and I would have neutral toe in the rear and toe out in the front (not sure how much). I'm not sure by how much the ride height should be reduced -30mm? Any suggestions? |

Totally. I love how my stock FR-S suspension acts/ reacts to my inputs / road inputs, however at some point I'd like to go with at least a 1" drop (quality springs/struts= about $800 , or possibly coil-overs = going to be $1300+). I doubt I could get a quality coil-over (rebuild-able and good compression settings, and a fair amount of drop settings), for under $1000 So which aftermarket set up best resembles how our cars come from the factory (understood it's not going to be exact) ? |

I never come in this thread, but doesn't lowering the car more than an inch greatly increase the odds of axle failure? Why not just get TRD lowering springs for the OEM fit and finish? |

I am running the swift Srpings (FRS Version) on OEM Shocks on my 2013 BRZ and they ride and handle great! Smoother than stock with a more aggressive 1" drop.

After 1" you start to lose suspension travel and can end up with a worse ride if your talking springs on stock struts. |

based on this info, for DD
seems like placing the OEM Toyota 86 0.0"/2.3k 0.0"/3.3k on BRZ rear is best to make it more neutral (balance the rates between front and rear) thoughts ? |

Thanks, i like what you did in having a higher rate in front.
coming from a corvette, in racing, with a heavier engine in the front, some shops recommended a higher spring rate in front. i understand its a different car and other suspension geometry, but similar principal. |

Hello,
Didn't see Mann Engineering springs and coilovers here so thought I add to your list. Good list! Lowering springs: https://www.mann-engineering.com/ind...x/detail/id/35 Coilovers: https://www.mann-engineering.com/ind...=&category=174

This is a super useful guide, but it hasn't been updated in a really long time... Any chance someone could overhaul it for clarity?

most of these ots springs are progressive, though nothing about them being progressive or linear have been adressed
