i feel you. I bought wheels and a project car while my other half was on vacation with her parents in Europe (they paid for it). It was easier to tell her when I found out she spent more on a scarf and some sunglasses. Keep it even-ish and keep your mouth shut and there are no problems lol

So, anyone got tips on replacing the clutch on an FWD car? I'm looking to do it myself on my Corolla since the mechanic is asking too much for parts and labor.

Also, any legit sites that sell OEM Toyota parts?

Do you ever think that there will be a Mustang GT Ecoboost with the twin turbo V6? On one hand, I could never get rid of the V8. On the other hand, adding one more trim to the Mustang with countless other trims seems plausible...

Get an engine hoist. There's a chance you might have to lift the motor to get access to everything. It's a pain in the ass.

That's a thought. However, I'd like to keep the Crapolla around for daily duty and let it get beat up some more, if it happens.

I'd love to pick up an XRS/VGT though... (the 2ZZ ones, not the later 2AZ ones)

Need a hoist, a friend you don't mind losing (you are gonna argue), a good flexible ratchet extension, an afternoon and a case of beer. It will not be fun. I helped change one in a Mazda once and it was one of the worst car job experiences of my life. I wouldn't call it difficult really but it is a pain in the butt.

Sweet. Keep us informed. I'm giving serious consideration to starting an earnest search for a '85 to '87 MR2. This November is the 30th anniversary of my first date with MomHawk and I picked her up in my original Olivia. Would be a good excuse to spend the money, and have a nice weekend runabout.

I wish my brother kept his. Is the hoist really the only way to go?

There may be others but it was bad enough with one so I don't know how you would do it without. Probably could find a video someplace.
