So my axleback bolts are completely rusted. The nuts are acting like they are fused to the bolts. I've PB blasted; I've tried both 6 pt. box end wrenches and sockets with a breaker bar, and they don't budge. They just want to round off. I don't have a blowtorch and I'm not going to risk hurting something under the car by going to get one. I have a nut splitter now and will be attempting to make use of that after dinner and after I've gone and sourced some new bolts, because the stock ones will not be recoverable.

Worst case, I break out the Dremel.

FUN.

Ok, got the bastard off and put the Nameless pipe on. It's amazing how much quieter such a tiny muffler makes. Here are some pics. Video will have to wait until tomorrow at the earliest.

Exhaust video will be here whenever Youtube finishes processing...Which apparently was never. Youtube ate the video for some reason. In any case, here's another copy. Oh yeah, and aside from the muffled track pipe vs. nonmuffled the last video still had Ignition Advance Post-Start at -15; it's now at -4 (well, -3.83) to quiet down the cold start a little more efficiently.

Keep meaning to post these. Picked up these wide blue tinted mirrors at 86EXPO from FT86SpeedFactory. They give quite a bit more room. Normally I'd post a comparison but unfortunately my stockers are buried away now along with all the other parts/boxes that were taking up space in our bedroom.

It suffices to say that I am, when looking ahead, able to see in my peripheral vision a vehicle before it even finished leaving the driver's side mirror view; the passenger side is a little different but still a vastly better view than before. And the fact that they already come nicely mounted in housings as opposed to having to swap from the stock housings is very nice as well.

If anyone's looking, my former FR-S is for sale from Russel VW outside of Baltimore MD:

http://www.russelvw.com/used/Scion/2...f8ff405568.htm

It's not clear if they fully converted it back to stock or not - the pics show some of my mods but it's not clear when they were taken (and they had every single stock part provided to them).
