Going full catless and going with a much louder exhaust like Invidia's N1 may get you some pops without any tuning but not really sure. The engine/exhaust section would probably have much better info.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...light=oft+pops
This thread is all about the tables you would need to change in your ROM to cause pops with almost any exhaust setup. Most people who used it for some amount of time said that it caused excessive buildup on their exhaust/bumper as well as damaging their muffler packing so use at your own risk.

The search function on the forum is pretty bad so the best way to find threads or general info is usually to google "FT86 club" followed by what you're looking for.

It kind of is. Some front pipes won't fit with the AT.

I have an AT with TRD exhaust. On manual upshifts it definitely has a distinct popping noise from 1st to 2nd most pronounced at around 4k. Header and other exhaust will prob make it even better. Just fyi

Also a/t here. Catless front pipe with a greddy axle. Has a bit of popping. Tried catless front pipe with just a single tip axle back, no muffler and got a lot of popping. Too loud for my taste though.

there are more than five AT GT86 tuned by Mike (Moto-east) in my city.
I use E85 and HKS non-catted header , non-catted front pipe and HKS catback legamax.
Moto-Mike remotely tune our AT and power gain is between 15% to 17% .

another important mod for AT is changing Final Drive ratio from 4.1 to 4.88.

FD will live up the car, sharp response make me happy . FD 4.88 make 5% better accelerate in 0-176km/h and you feel the car is 210whp (20% better than stock 175whp).

if you need more than 210whp i recommend you switching to MT.

OP, I have AT as well with the Rev Works UEL header bolted up to the stock OP/FP with a muffler delete (Tuned with OpenFlash). I get the pops on upshifts in manual mode pretty much every time (unless I'm accelerating really slowly) once the car is warmed up. I also get them in high RPM's after letting off the gas. I don't have any video of the pops, although I can try and get one. I do have a video of what my setup sounds like though, and I will link the video below.

IMO, full catless without any resonators doesn't sound that great. It's just too loud and raspy for my taste.

I didn't see if it's already mentioned, but a lot of the guys here put in some work and created master compilation threads with a list of mods in most subsections of the forum. That's where I went when I was bogged down by the vast amount of possibilities.
Exhaust thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6064

Additionally, if you're looking to free up the exhaust flow but want to keep it as quiet as possible, you should definitely look into resonators.

I have an AT and I tune my own car. I use an OpenFlash Tablet and I share what I learn with the forum. I have tried the 4.88 Final Drive, and recommend that for your first expense. After that, an OFT, UEL Header, E85, Tires, Brakes, Filter, Front/Over pipes without cats, Oil coolers (trans and engine), Coil-overs, and more tires. Then maybe an axle-back muffler setup. How it drives is much more important than how it sounds.
