Later long term trims correct up to 27%. To give you an idea, this is the amount of correction you'd see from trying to run e85 on a pump gas tune. Stop driving your car in boost until you get your tune fixed. Edit- This is under the assumption that you've checked every vac line for leaks and have adjusted your BOV properly. ![]()

Make sure both hoses under the intake are attached, one under the throttle body one under drivers side intake runner. If you run a 19 AFR under bossted conditions YOU WILL melt a piston EDIT: The STFT will start to climb immediately to reflect the computer adding fuel. While the computer is adding fuel it still watches the o2 sensors until the o2 sensors are indicating that the lean condition no longer exists and proper air:fuel ratio is met. The computer will maintain this heightened addition of fuel until the leak is corrected. The scan tool will show STFT readings that are in the positive double digits, indicating that the computer has been adding too much fuel for normal operation. After a while the LTFT will also reflect this relative addition in fuel. Now if the vacuum leak is bad enough, the computer will not be capable of adding enough fuel to achieve proper air:fuel ratio. It will add fuel until the STFT reaches it's max calibration, usually 25%. Then a code is set in the computer indicating that the engine is running lean (P0171 or P0174) and the STFTs have maxed out

@FRS Justin
Everything you said regarding STFT I agree with. However the car shouldn't be undergoing tuning or hitting boost with this significant of a fueling correction immediately at startup. This is something the tuner should have had OP fix day 1 before tuning the car. Black is rear O2. If long term fuel trim correction is not disabled in the tune then that could definitely be the problem. However if LTFT correction is disabled in EcuTek (set min/max to 0), then the rear O2 being unplugged should be fine. OP will need to verify regarding that. Really strange stuff happening in OP's closed loop to open loop transition. ![]()

We need a data log as the car was after the tuning. It almost looks like its a N/A tune. Drambo disconnect the intake pipe before the MAF and see if the car will idle without the turbo in the loop. Please take a data log of idle setup like this. Just want to rule a few things out. You might want to check the file you loaded to the ecm and make sure you accidently didn't load the wrong one.

I thought it was off throttle and a tip-in issue at first, but the 20.7 AFR is with throttle, so that is really bad. |

I am actually having a very similar issue after my Radium Catch can install.. I got the p0170 and p1171 code whilst driving. Pulled over to check the codes, and when I tried to start it struggled. It's been driving okay since but unsure what is causing it.
Mechanic was unable to find any leaks, and the tuner said the tune shouldn't change (only happened about a month after tune and lots of driving). Here is a log I got of a very bad start shortly after the code: https://datazap.me/u/thinkv/ecutek-b...=7&hg=10-11-24 Sorry for bumping an old thread, but thought it would keep any research in the same place. |
