You can get performance-oriented special versions of the 86 in Japan, Europe, Middle East, and Australia.

Still nothing in the US...nice

I'm not asking for a 65K car either, just something with a bit more performance from the factory (Oil cooler, better wheels and tires, brakes...)

What, no comments about the single exhaust? Its the only style element I don't like about this car. The car has an exposed asshole.

I have heard rumors about a mass production high performance version with carbon fiber roof being available when the facelifted FR-S/GT86 comes out. Again, just rumors, and not sure if it will be available in the US even if they do make it.

Well, the 14R60 had two exhausts, so two exposed assholes

I would say that the 14R60 is the actual track oriented car. The GRMN 86 car is a more real road car focused on handling more bumps, different kind of corners and road pavements, changes in the altitude etc. This is why so many manufacturers are focusing in testing or racing in Nurburgring. It resembles much more the conditions you'll meet for example in an ordinary B-road.

I would seriously consider a special if it was it was offered in a similar mould to the Renault R.26R: roll cage, rear seats deleted, carbon hood, trick suspension, titanium exhaust, sticky rubber, plexiglass rear, a/c and radio delete options.

Just FYI, that price includes sales tax.

Seeing as weight reduction is one of key aspects to this build single all day. Dual pipes are for looks obviously when you have one manifold ...but yea exposed asshole lol

Guys keep in mind that you can not just take the Japanese price and subtract the exchange rate. That isn't how things work. If it is $60K there it could still be $60 here since they would just up the price. Sure if bought in Japan, with US dollars, then you would see a difference but the value and the price are not the same thing.

It would be nice if all our cars actually comes with a temperature gauge like this?

Currently Dunlop Direzza is my choice. For street I run 215/45/17 front and 225/45/17 rear. Going wider seems to just add weight and loose the maneuverability of the car. I dropped 8 pounds a corner of unsprung weight and you can feel the improvement like night and day.
says on their site (http://gazooracing.com/pages/grmn/86/#!/price_specs/) It's Bridgestone RE-71R, front 17x7.5 215/40R17, rear 17x8.5 235/40R17.

I wonder if there is any chance of these parts being available to purchase, like the shift knob, steering wheel, that sort of thing. Probably wishful thinking but I want some of those interior pieces

It's not a good sign if you're missing a left nut....must be lost in the exposed asshole in this FRS somewhere.
