Has that ever personally worked for you?

In my experience they just route you back to a dealership representative who works for the dealership and just bends to the dealership management and you're back at square one.

Threats of court are the only thing I've seen work in that scenario.

I've contacted Scion corporate in the past but not for something like a dealership "voiding a warranty over an axleback muffler"

Heh, I did this also for first service.

The dealership I bought the car from is less than 10 minutes from my house, depending on traffic and stop light. Yet, I drive about 40 minutes to an hour (depending on traffic) to the dealership my uncle works at so he or his team members can work on the car.

I expect this sort of thing from a Jiffy Lube or something, but from a dealer? Pretty ridiculous. Anyone else having these problems with their Toyota dealer?
In my years, I've found Toyota dealerships to generally be quite a bit scummier than average (worse even than GM dealerships, who despite their reputation, I have never had much trouble with).

My guess is that their typical Camry/Avalon/Highlander/Snoozemobile customers (i.e. people who don't know or care much about cars) are easily fooled by such shenanigans, so they have taken root pretty bad.

Each dealer seems to sell one specific thing to each customer, I was sitting in my waiting lobby waiting for my cars first oil change to be done and they seemed to be telling everyone they need a fuel injection cleaning service, throttle body and maf sensor cleaning per manufacturer recommendations. ALL of them seem to own the cars you said as well as be older than 35-40

I can chime in now. Dropped my FRS off this morning for its 45k. Cost 106$ Service rep was awesome. Told him were going to see StarWars and we'd be back. Driving from breakfast he calls says everything looks good, car us dine enjoy your movie. I haven't driven yet but I don't expect anything to be wrong

Later that day out of curiosity I take the intake hose off and sure enough, my throttle plate looks like a mirror.

I took my parents camry in for them there recently too. They gave me a laundry list of needs that totaled over 5k dollars. for a 15 year old camry. Half of which was blatent lies, and the other half I performed myself for pennies on the dollar.

The Ford dealer near here never pulls this crap. Almost makes me look forward to my warranty being expired so I don't have to take it in anymore.
Uhg. Sorry to hear ! It's crap that you buy the car expecting the service and they don't hold up to it. Or at least they will and charge you an arm and a leg..or they cleaned it for you Amy way ?
