That's cool, but it isn't an average of 1/4 mile times from multiple people at a real track. There are very few people who take these cars to the dragstrip anyways, but it wouldn't be outrageous to think someone will.

Edelbrock emails you your tune after you send them the details of your ECU... I would maybe try giving them a call, it would SUCK if they didn't get back to you until after christmas.

For any future owners planning on installing it themselves or done by a shop, make sure you (or your shop) e-mails edelbrock well in advanced to get your file and double check that its compatible.

My installer and I had the unfortunate luck of getting sent the wrong file and only realizing it after the install at 5:50pm on a Fri. We tried e-mailing anyway in the hopes of getting a reply and luckily/surprisingly we did, got the correct file and I was good to go.

Good tip! I can't find the instruction to email them the info for the file in the provided book. I'm testing mine first and discovered they're not available after calling in.

Don't remember, did the pull on an empty side street and was more focused on my surroundings. Like @CSG Mike mentioned, even with the throttle to the floor, the highest I've seen it was at 80%.

Edit: after some research, it looks like the throttle indicated by ecutek is the drive by wire throttle body position, not the pedal. At full pedal down, ecutek shows it at 80% while OFT shows it at 95%. I learn something everyday!

Why is it that you can't open it 100%? And can one tune the throttle map for it?

Ecutek will vary actually it will depend on how it's scaled, I was just asking because if you did and it was that low it would lead me to believe it should be checked. I assumed since you said pull it was wide open but the numbers lead me to ask.

I just scanned the ECUTEK manual and came up with nothing. the only thing that it talked about was.
Wide Open Torque Threshold
Accel Pedal to Desired Torque


And neither seem to cover it, it was kind of scary thinking about adjusting it, and exactly why I pay to have this done.

Throttle % will always be 80% in ECUtek, throttle angle varies like in OFT however if you log the TPS voltage it doesn't change. So 80% is max opening, it indicates 80% of the TPS voltage range. This cannot be increased.

^What he said. There's a handful of threads about this. Here's an excerpt:

Throttle Position

You will often see you throttle percentage at less than 100% in your logs even though you have pedal nailed to the floor. This is because its a drive by wire throttle and its logging the throttle plate position not the accelerator pedal position.

OFT (open flash tablet) generally logs WOT (wide open throttle) around 95%
Ecutek arround 80%

You may also see the throttle percent taper off at high RPM this is normal and ECU adjusting throttle plate angle.

ECU (engine control unit) will also back off throttle if you loose traction with the traction control or stability control active

Hey guys, Edelbrock did get back to me the same day, nice service!


I was able to test flash the ECU to the Edelbrock tune, and FYI, you have to email them the calibration ID of your existing ECU to get the right Edelbrock calibration file from them.


Now that I flashed it I need to set it back to stock until I install, any ideas on how to do that? It seems the original ECU calibration I was running is not listed amongst the calibrations the software downloaded automatically. I need ZA1JA01C. Where do I find this? Another interesting note, despite having the above code I'm actually running a modified ZA1JB01C calibration provided by Edelbrock... should I just load the stock version of that (which is present in the EcuTek provided files)?


Shoot, hope I didn't just get myself stuck!

Load the B01C as it's the most up-to-date compatible C series file.
