No drilling. I didn't use the studs, those are just bolts. I put the nuts on the back with lock washers to help keep the bolts from backing out. It is an old technique from the old muscle car days. The bolts are threaded and tightened into the threads on the flange, then the nuts tightened on back to keep the bolts from backing out.

It is m6 x 30 mm, I forget thread pitch. (Maybe 1.25) and the grade is 10.9. When you see 8 or 8.8, that is the softest- compares to grade 3 in SAE hardware. Th 10.9 compared to grade 5, and 12.9 compares to grade 8. The numbers are from softest to hardest, or tensile strength. There are lower grades on smaller hardware, but for all of the bigger stuff, m6 and on I believe, these numbers are the same. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Just take one of the studs with you to get correct thread pitch. I bought these at lowes. They were out of stock on the m6 hardware I needed in stainless steel, otherwise I would have gotten stainless. The bolts started life shiny, but the heat has dulled them. I have all stainless hardware from there back that I bought at lowes. These are flange bolts due to the cramped space, makes it possible to get the 12mm box end wrench on them. If I get to lowes anytime soon, I will update with the thread pitch for sure.

Given strong discouragement for OFT voiced many times in favor of Ecutek in Ace's related threads, imho not too many. I'd also ask Shiv, if someone hadn't asked to do custom tune with this header state-side.

Ace Header is halting production.
Our staff (now up to 7 members!) has been working flat-out to fulfill orders and now it's time to switch back to R&D. If you have any open orders with us we will complete them and then go into hibernation for a while. When we emerge we will have some new goodies that we think will help make these cars even more awesome. We'll still be around so if anyone has questions just let us know. Happy Driving, Team ACE |
