Auto Headlight Wont turn off with keyfob

Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone has this issue...

Car:
2013 BRZ Limited

Issue:
Auto head lights.

Situation:
Park the car, turn it off. (night time--automatic setting on the stalk keeps the headlights on)

Get out of the car.

Lock the door via door touch pad thingy or keyless fob.

*doors lock*

Hit the lock button on the keyless fob to turn off headlights.

*beep beep* *turn lights flash* *head lights stay on(no change)*

TLR -- The auto head lights should turn off after locking the doors and hitting the lock door button on the key fob...but they don't.

I get back into the car and flip the headlight switch to off. *head lights turn off* flip them back to auto *head lights stay off*

*shrugs, closes door, locks them, get on forum to asks for help.*

Halp?

Lasagna is onto something check the auto sensor in the corner of the passenger side if possible for obstructions. Otherwise it might be an ecu issue.

How about a fastrak? There has to be something that's blocking that sensor. Or like above, something is wrong with it.

If you're close enough to the car the key fob will be detected. If your far enough and hit the lock button it will turn off the headlights.
You just need to be far away to do this.

Are they an a delay? When you hit the button do they stay on for a few seconds and then go out? Did you wait to see if they went out after a bit? I know it may sound obvious but some cars can have them stay on for as long as a minute.

I wouldn't think it has to do with the sensor...everything works as it should. Headlights turn on and off as they should, they shut down after awhile if i just leave it alone.

It's just recently that when I go to try and turn off the headlights with the keyfob as I do out of habit now it doesn't.

I also notice that the beeps that usually happen when i turn off the car and open the door are no longer happening.

::shrugs::

As far as the beeping, I believe mine only beeps if I shut off the engine with my door open.

Same goes for me. Mine only beeps when my door is open and I shut off the engine.

Video of me trying to lock with a key fob when I'm close to the car then moving away and locking.

Also, I think the amount of light thats hitting the sensor place a role. If there's plenty of light the headlights will turn of if you press the key fob when it's close.

awww you made a video just for meeee??? THANKS! yeah, my car use to do all of that..but not anymore....

my head lights don't turn off with the keyfob no matter how close or far i am. =X It's a recent oddity. i might have to go to the dealership.

Edit: Just played with the car some more...turned the headlights on manually (no on auto) with the car off. opened the door, no beeeeeeeeeep warning that headlights are on. closed the door and locked the car, no outside beeeeeeeep warning. i'm sure all these issues are related--maybe it's a fuse?

This may sound silly but make sure all doors including the trunk is closed. Headlights won't turn off otherwise.
