Depends on the extra. If it was port installed, its not coming off. I had to pay extra for the stupid homelink mirror, rear diffuser, and chrome fender grill since I just couldn't wait for a new stock.

I'm looking at some FR-S inventories online, and the one I want has a for sale price of $28,205. Are the options included in that price mandatory? Obviously, if it has the tint, that's not coming off, but what about the warranty, mud guards, and things like that? Can I whittle the price down by telling the dealer I don't want some of those options?

And for anyone taking advantage of the school grad program, is that something I can ask about once I walk into the dealership? I graduated in May of 2010, so I may have missed the 2-year cutoff, but I thought maaaaaaybe I'd qualify regardless...

I got the 8yr/100k to. I mean it covers the alternator even, so you know it'll partially pay itself back. Plus Toyota seems much better than SOA when it comes to covering warrantee repairs. Plus they lowered my sales tax to where I live versus where I purchased (.5% difference) and dropped my rate from 3.19% to 2.89% percent. Mine was a bit over $30k OTD after everthing. Put $9k down+$1K grad rebate got me payments of $397/month.

2013 Whiteout A/T w/ carpeted trunk mat, wheel locks, bumper applique, and something else I can't remember right now. lol

that looks like a good trade in price, what condition was your si in? i have an 07 si with about 50k miles i'll be trading in. i have one small door ding and the clear coat on the roof has erroded away leaving a few medium size splotches of faded paint. (this is a known issue with the paint on the si, i babied the crap out of that thing and always had it washed and waxed). just wondering if these will affect the trade in price by a lot, or if it would be worth having them fixed first.

edit- forgot to mention i have the navigation system, factory aero kit, and factory performance suspension on mine. that should all factor in as well right?

My Si was not spotless, but I used touch-up paint to cover most of the little things. Mine was black, and the paint on the hood was starting to get 'crow's feet'. I had somewhat similar spots in some areas of the paint fade.

I had the navi but removed it for an aftermarket kit, so I don't think I got the $ for that. I didn't have any aero kits, but I did have some Rota wheels, lowered springs, and a bunch of performance mods but I doubt that's added value to the car. Maybe the Alpine amp and tint did, I dunno.

It's pretty much spot on with KBB value, you might be able to get $14k+ since you're still within powertrain warranty from Honda. I want to say if it's a Sedan, you'll be able to push slightly more for your trade since it's an easier car for them to sell to someone else (coupe is annoying with kids).

Ouch

9 years ago my insurance co gave me $14700 for a stock '00 Si with 67k miles(3.5 years old/high mileage penalty included!)...rated in average condition because the thieves torched it and I had no proof it was better than average.

The guy who said that was a good price on the trade...not even close, unless it's a pawn shop. Trade-in = rape every time.

Sigh... my CA tax was 7.75%, though my doc fee was just $55 (plus a $29 electronic dmv filing fee).

My Sonic was 10% about 6 months ago....so i should be good to go in that 5 to 3 % range hopefully even lower considering some of the other things i staightened out plus the car was cheap $17k, so it wasnt so bad. 15% i would never do...especially a $25k purchase....gotta crawl before you can walk, atleast its something he will enjoy paying for...
