I'm a self-admitting BMW purist. I needed to get that out of the way, because I have some harsh words for this car. BMW has lost the plot. They have overly fragmented their product lines. Why would anyone in their right mind buy this instead of the 5 series? They look damn near close enough (frankly I think the current 5 looks better), and this certainly will cost more. Other than the occasional M vehicle, BMW has lost me completely. The new Z doesn't (and won't, according to the head of M) have an M variant, and IIRC you'd be hard pressed to get the top of the line Z with a manual. BMW is going down the road of Mercedes and abandoning their own niche in the process. The problem is that Mercedes has already been filling this niche competently and will be difficult to overtake.

Not gonna lie, it looks like someone sat on the hood and the trunk. Someone big, and fat. I like the M5 look but this is trying to get some Jag nuances in there and it's not working.

Although my main complaint about our Bavarian friends, is that most of their cars look exactly the same. And this one doesn't, but it's not exactly better.

IMHO, of course. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
