lol @ ^ this guy. Trying to be insulting after demonstrating total ignorance. What a tard.

Dude, it's "better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Seriously, something as basic as resolution vs the size of the screen should be obvious to you. 1080p on a smaller screen is much more crisp than 1080p on a large tv. Then, things like refresh rate, input latency (response time), ghosting, color depth, color accuracy, etc. can all be researched via simple Google searches.

Ya, douche bag total ignorance. I still haven't found anything saying how a monitor out performs an led. 120hz and a response that are better than acceptable. I didn't see anyone backing the claims up. Glad to see **** heads are on this forum too.

Wow, all this arguing over a choice of a screen to play on.

Most monitors are LCD screens with LED backlights just like tvs. LED tv is just a marketing term for a different backlight that caught on to replace fluorescent backlighting. Monitors and tv's are still either IPS, TN, or VA LCD panels. (Besides OLED, but they are another story). Throwing around the word LED means nothing to this discussion.

Many new tv's do have acceptable input lag if put in game mode to turn off extra image processing. Still not as good as many monitors however.

Everything has a refresh rate of at least 60. 120 means almost nothing unless you actually have your game playing higher than 60. consoles can't even take advantage of even 60 unfortunately. Many tv's do weird things like frame doubling to claim 120 or 240, but it is usually not the true refresh rate like 120hz monitors have. When you put the game mode on it will most likely turn any of the fancy stuff off and be straight 60hz.

So yes, tv's are good enough for most people, but monitors are still usually faster. The numbers on the tv box are known for being misleading. Personally I use consoles on a tv, pc on monitors.

CRT's are still the fastest.

It has been explained to you multiple times.

You can easily do product specification searches and see the differences for yourself.

You obviously no little to nothing about the technologies and simply go off big number of the front of a box in the store.

TV's and PC monitors are based off the same technologies but their implementations, quality, and feature sets differ.

Just about all TV's today are acceptable, and some high end TV's are even really good gaming monitors. The problem is once you get a really good TV you have spent as much (usually more) than you would have on a dedicated gaming monitor.

But when it comes down to the base of the point a dedicated PC gaming monitor will always be better than a TV for computer gaming.

If you are not willing to learn than please go on believing what you want.

Strife response time and refresh rate while useful are not a clear indicator of performance (it's only response time from grey to grey really), full spectrum response time, input lag have a far greater importance and that is where monitors will outshine TV's, thing is these numbers cannot be used for blatant marketing so manufacturers seldom make them public since it can end up hurting them.

can't beat CRT's and also the blurriness helps so much to not make old game graphics give you nosebleeds like on modern displays.

Don't be too hard on Strife, just looks like someone who got caught/hooked on all the marketing BS tv manufacturers have been trying to feed people for the past 15 years.

Strife, I will leave you with this, remember about 10 years ago when all TV's were being marketed with Hz being the main selling point? Buy this new TV its better than the other with its 600hz refresh rate... where are all those super refresh rates now? in the garbage can of marketing departments where they belong since it was just marketed this way by doing math magic

I am not sure why some of you are being suck a holes about me saying I prefer a TV and that I don't SEE anything that makes a monitor look so much better. I never denied it but now I'm fkn stupid because why? Because I still prefer a screen. Did I debate which is better? Did I say anyone was wrong? No I didn't ffs. I haven't been keeping up with the pc world my enormous pc works and I've been working on my car and other crap. Last I checked 2-3 years ago pc/monitor both work just fine. But I guess I'm a moron for saying something that others don't agree with or that is incorrect. I love Internet logic. This is where my signature comes from unfollowing this shit. Feels like I'm on a match of salty ass lol or wow general chat.

It's probably how you state your opinion like it's a fact (even though you pointed out it's only an opinion) and it's the only one that matters.

I'm sure these posts didn't help either.

Oh I thought you got the mx200 like me maybe I misread your post at first.

Haven't installed anything yet I'm still waiting for the main components.

Last time I order from Td. Ups is terrifyingly bad. My Newegg order(graphics card) came in the next day, my td order is taking forever.

They never used to be this brutal either. I ordered a card from them 4 years ago and it came the week of.
