Due to horror stories regarding DI failures and seals, I decided to delete it. Now lets see what this little motor can do..... big boost with no worries is why I've done it.

First things first, plugging the holes..

I turned up these to press into the head and sit at the bottom of the chamfer so they look cool. The long thin shaft is a nice snug fit in the injector bore.

From the outside..

Here we are from inside..

Welded up, polished back and new seats fitted and cut. The heads have also been skimmed.

All this work is done by Race Developments in Gloucester. Tim really knows what he's doing with all this stuff!!

I have had all the engine work done and am starting on the shell. here we can see it on its very own rotisserie. You will notice I already seam welded the front end.. this was done when the shell was still on stands, lets just say the floor welds will be redone, they aint pretty!!

The rotisserie allows the body to be rotated and worked on in any orientation, so instead of having to grovel around on ones back to seam weld the floor, one can simply stand on a stool and do it vertically from the top.. like this....

Or you could always have the floor in front of your face??

Or the other way round??

Having this jig will also make the job of stripping sealant and cutting out the boot floor a lot easier, especially for an old bugger like me!!

The white '86 in the background used to belong to "Steveoexige", it had a JDL Turbo kit, Tein suspension, Cosworth brakes bla bla, now it's stock.
Wuuuut?!? You pieced together 2 engine stands to make a rotisserie?

Yep, sure did. Just had to replace the lower cross piece for some thing longer and add 14" to the height.

They've held up... so far??

Thanks for all the support guys.
We'll be getting into the interesting stuff soon, I now have a dry sump pan, air jacks and ideas for moving the engine back!

We'll also be starting on the roll cage real soon.

Now this is what I call a proper build and something even I dream of doing one day. Can't wait for the finished car.
