The BRZ Warranty & Maintenance Booklet shows in the chart that you should wait until 7500 miles for the 1st oil change. It does not show a replacement at 3k miles. The Quick Reference Guide says "Use 0W 20 synthetic, replacement interval 7,500 miles; no requirement at the first 3,000 miles."

Pretty clear that they are saying you can wait until 7500 for the first change. Sounds scary though.

Looks like it's the same as the '10 Outback and '12 WRX.

Now I just need to get under the car to see if I can use the one with the nipple for the ultimate in clean and easy oil changes.

I don't have the maintenance book with me right now but I remember reading that 3000 miles was the first interval. I can confirm later when I get home.

Ill probably be doing 4-5k changes depending on how much I drive it, how severe the heat is here, and how many times it sees the track.

I'd change it before your next dyno session.

Dyno the car, Change the oil, Then dyno it again. Let me know how much you loose in power after the oil change!

oil changed. One piece of advice; do not drop anything from the top of the engine, because then you have to remove all of the bastard bolts/plastic clips to take off the skid plate to retrieve whatever you dropped, because it will invariably become trapped between the VERY HOT exhaust manifold and the skid plate.

I plan to change the oil shortly. I'm at 850 miles and Picked up 2 filters from the subaru dealer near my house. They were $9.80 each with the crush washer. I did however post in the other filter thread a link to them online for $6.44.

I'll do a DIY if I remember, as well as oil photos so everyone else can see what mine looked like and decide if they want to change theirs around 1k as well. (barring me remembering. I do tend to forget things).
