Big news.
At SEMA I met some new friends that had some scrap parts laying around. This is inbound, ETA next week. Base for the Individual throttle bodies.

So all this talk of different engines and % changes in hp and crank vs. whp is just cr#p...
And totally missing the point of this build. I think I've said before that I really admire the work and dedication in this one, and definitely keen to see what the final results will be... so please dudes (in the nicest possible manner) can we cut the rubbish and stop the ![]() for the build - I'm super keen on seeing the final built motor - and just how much the torque curve will be improved (of course the tune will make a big diff once all the physical parts are done too). Can't remember if you said already... you going to use e85 too? And thanks for sharing

And even if you don't meet your hp goals, please let us know the outcome. Seems there have been a few NA builds on this platform but no one publishes anything, which is sad!

86 South Africa: how differs %of whp you complain about vs torque improvement you are asking about?
![]() Or you wrote rather about shape of torque curve, preferably without infamous torque dip? That can be fixed in stock engine too with different aftermarket exhaust headers without any engine itself rebuild, so i hardly see it being among most important objectives of this engine build endeavour. |

I don't know what the "importance" of it is. Depends how you drive I guess. The torque is one of the negative aspects of the stock engine... so what I am keen on seeing is how much torque the NA build will produce + how the torque curve looks in the end - in other words, instead of bolting on some FI that solves the problem it will be interesting to see how this built motor will deliver it's power. No measure is perfect, but a % increase is much more comparable because it negates much of the actual hp numbers people quote. 10% is 10% whereas 10hp is ? If you had 500hp to begin with then 10hp isn't much - but if you only had 20, then 10 is great. Also different dyno's read differently + each car will have slight differences (even on the same dyno)... so therefore the obsession with hp numbers is silly. So what motor can/can't make "200hp" for e.g. is a silly comparison. That's all.

I'm not sure the torque curve is the point of this build? The intent is to rev to 9000rpm and the only way to make NA power up there will be more lift via cams. The motor doesn't have variable lift unlike a VTEC so you'd expect the bottom end of the curve to suffer as a result.
I am very interested to see what happens with that inlet setup. Keep the posts coming celek! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

What are you planning to do with that? I sense a lot of melting aluminum in your near future.
