YUP! I felt the same way when I learned that nifty trick. They probably did it because he can't hold a weapon or do anything like lockpicking... So now it's just me an the pup roaming the wasteland carrying a shit-ton of loot! Also, it's common knowledge now, but you can put armor and whatnot on Dogmeat too. Jury is still out as to whether or not it helps, but he sure looks badass.

My dogmeat has a scarf. Probably alot more protective than that stupid clunky soda can heavy dog armor stuff /sarcasm

I'm using piper as a companion. We both have black courser outfits with sunglasses and skull bandanas... neo & trinity (matrix). from what i've read followers will need to be given ammo if you give them a gun. once they run out they go back to their default gun.

Currently level 25-ish. Just made it to The Insitute. yeah.... mind blown. This game just gets better the more you play. I'm probably going to up the difficulty as 'regular' is too easy and you get more legendary gear on higher difficulties.

I was using dogmeat all the time till I got tired of him getting me stuck trying to stealth... or aggro everything else near by...

Then I realize companion can uses power armor without using fusion core & carry almost 300 pound.... oh man that made the game a lot easier...

Couldn't take the speech interface any longer, so I added the Full Dialog Interface mod. So much better.....
