I am not sure we are talking about the same tube. My proposition is to add a 3rd bend, unless I am missing something

What tube size are you using ? it looks like a big diameter, any reason not to go for smaller tube with thicker walls ? hard to tell in the photo.

From my experience with wiring everything that had a yellow plug can be pulled out.

The audio/radio/amplifier wires are the main solution and take a little more time to identify and remove. But a clean interior is priceless

curious about forced induction
Ah, I see what you're saying. I don't think we would gain much from an additional bend there, it's already pretty tight up against the ceiling, and pushed as far outboard as it can go.

We're using 1.75" x 0.095" DOM. It's stiffer than 1.5" x 0.120" tubing for a given length, although it is slightly heavier. The main reason, though, is common tooling. This will allow us to make cages for heavier cars (over the 3200lb limit) out of 1.75" tubing using the same bender tooling, which is very expensive. So in short, it's for ease of production down the road.

Thanks for the tip on the zip ties. Those look slick.

The question remains.... Did they solve the hear soak issue that we see with most FI systems (think Texas heat) or find a solution that would be good enough....

Subbed. Love the details of this build. Even though I don't have plans to go full racecar, I still enjoy the data on the parts you do use to know what I should be looking for as I continue to add to my car.

Thank you for the time you have taken to compile all this information, and know it is very much appreciated!

Can't say for sure yet, but it's a business decision as much as a technical one.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Feel free to stop by the shop and check us out any time!

We got a little more work done on the cage design. The basic beam structure is pretty much there.

We also did some torsional analysis, which is detailed in the cage thread in the HPDE section.

Negative. We saw more value in running larger diameter (1.75" x 0.095" vs. 1.5" x .120") mild steel DOM to increase stiffness. 4130 would be neat, but just not necessary for this car.

now that you are talking about seats

I just mounted a passenger seat today in my car... what a pain, I used the Planted plate to attach the seat to the OEM bolting point. And I also did not use slider to keep them as low as possible, but then the seat is too far to the front.

What are you going to use to mount the seats

The head clearance prohibit using sliders if you are above 6 feet tall.

Looking forward to your seat mounting options
