Does anyone know if it is safe to remove stock oil pressure switch? I need a place where to put analog oil temp sensor. I have extra oil pressure in galley plug. I also have Perrin oil cooler and I am not a fan of putting another oil plate.
So, is the stock oil pressure sender just for the dummy light or is it used by ECU to anything else? Can I remove it without consequences?
I found some threads here where people removed it, but I just want to be sure.
Thanks.

Not at home to look at the Factory manual but usually the switches are used for the dummy light on the dashboard not the ECU if I recall.

The FA20 has two switches on the oil gallery. either one measures temp and one measures pressure, or one is the light and one is pressure. The stock ECU definitely reads oil pressure, not sure about oil temperature.

I'm fairly certain it's the other way around. The switch right by the filter is for the light and then there's a temp sensor right next to it.

The stock pressure switch is to the left as you look at the block. All it does is switch on the dash light at around 2.5 psi. Does not go to the ECU. The sensor on the right is temperature, and it does go to the ECU.

Yeah I know my P3Cars gauge displays Temp from the OBDII port. Pressure could also be monitored to ECU as well but in most cases its for the dummy light.
Some cars like Honda use Oil pressure to monitor and activate the vtaaaaaks in the ECU! I have not dug too deep into our cars yet in wiring

The one close to the oil filter is the temp.

The one on the left (from the front) is the oil pressure switch. It is not a fail safe switch. Literally unplugging it and tucking the line will not cause the light to come on.

It sends no information to the ECU.

I unplugged mine and tucked the wire harness to feed oil to a turbo. It works fine. I unscrewed the switch and removed it completely. 1/8 NPT thread for the fitting into the engine.

The gallery plug to the left and in front of the A/C compressor is the place to put a real oil pressure sender for a gauge / standalone if you are so inclined.

Analog temp will work fine off that front port though.

Our cars in USA have no way from the factory to measure oil pressure. They do measure oil temperature. We have an oil pressure switch that simply illuminates a dummy light for pressure below 4psi if memory serves me correctly

I based my answer on my belief that people buy those dash mounted gauges which give multiple info, including oil pressure. They stick in the airvent and plug into the OBD11 connector.

Edit:- I was wrong. Sorry about that!!

Well, the king pdf has the element tuning car pictured. I would expect that these bearings are part of the solution. How much power for how long? I'd just call element and let them build it for you.
