ACT clutch test car finalized
Spoke with a few of the guys up at ACT in Lancaster and they will be using my car to test fit the clutch/pressure plate/flywheel
I just need a few bits of input from you guys... who here would actually purchase such a kit? woulfd you purchase a flywheel? a clutch by itself? the full clutch kit? or everything all together? main kit they will be pushing is the HDSS (high density pressure plate and street compound clutch... as well as streetlite flywheel)

I would be interested in the HDSS clutch with a lightweight flywheel (significantly lighter).

I would be interested in a clutch kit, but not until the stock clutch is toast. I don't think with the minor power upgrades I will be doing that I will overpower the stock disk any time soon.

Their HDSS kit for the K20 Civics could hold around 250 lb/ft, if I remember correctly. I would imagine a similar kit for the FA20 would shoot for a figure around there.

I'd be mostly interested in a lightened flywheel. I don't think this car will be making enough power to require stronger clutches without major work. But lightened rotating assemblies are right up this car's alley.
If you REALLY want to endear yourself to the community, put your clutch-minds together and come up with a master cylinder or something that will bring some feel back to the clutch. The stock clutch is WAY too light. Makes my stock STI clutch feel like a hardcore race clutch. |
