I dont think all those "free" things are in any way a way to justify all the trouble the OP had to go through. It is an absolute pain to go back and forth to the dealership for problems with the car. If everything was done right the first time, everyone leaves happy. All the compensation that the dealership was providing is really to make up for their initial mistakes.

Yes, we owners are picky about OUR stuff, especially owners that brings their cars in to the dealership over some mom&pa shop. But that is specifically the reason why we expect top notch service from premium price we are paying at the dealership.

As stated in previous posts. the trailer's wiring was and is good. If I still hook up my truck to the trailer the lights on the trailer DO NOT WORK.. they used to work when I used the truck about 2 months before when I went to the quarry for stone.

I always have problems at dealers and it seems to stem from 1. Service writers seem to have little knowledge about cars and don't relay information well. 2. They have this expectation customers know even less than them and expect you to just say yes to anything.

Those two things always lead to conflict when I start asking questions. Funny thing is I have found 3 "mom and pop" shops I like but not one dealer. When I ask questions these shops don't get their panties in a bunch and, gasp, will even show me on the car what they are doing/needs to be done.

I know as an enthusiast I am a "difficult" customer but a little communication and knowledge goes a long way. As well as not being upset when I ask questions.

This is incredibly true and kind of saddening. I walked into the Toyota dealer service department to get a TSB done they had no idea what I was talking about and I just said I'd like to speak directly to the manager and he understood because that's what I said the appointment was for. I sit in the waiting room and I notice all these service "advisers" telling all these old people that Toyota recommends a transmission flush this engine flush and such and such because if you don't do it this will happen. Of course they fold and buy up all those unnecessary maintenance packages because they're told the worst scenario will happen if they don't.

Go to a mom and pop shop and they'll simply say what needs to be done or recommend something for the future and actually explain why no more no less and way less of a risk of aggressive up-selling, also they won't wait the whole day to do it they usually get right on it
